Script and Scene Planning

The film follows a school girl named Natalie who is struggling with something that happened to her friend at a party. She goes to see her social worker, Stacey Cornwell, for help. Stacey agrees to visit Natalie's friend to talk with her. The next evening, Stacey goes to the friend's house. After confirming her identity, Stacey is able to comfort Natalie's friend Keisha about the situation. The film ends with Keisha being grateful to Natalie for inviting Stacey to help.

Film title Your troubles, are my troubles.


Characters: Natalie (School girl), 3 main friends and Social worker Stacey Cornwell. (Film starts off with a title {black background with white font} (Mid-shot) We see a girl that appears to be a school girl in a school setting, sitting at her desk with her hand on her head. Girl remains in her seat for about 5 seconds on screen. Teacher comes over to the students desk and asks You okay, student replies Miss I cant concentrate can I please go and see Miss Cornwell. Teacher simply replies yes you can, go on. Mid-shot showing the girl walking out of the door and opening another door in the school corridor. Mid-shot showing three girls are shown on screen having a conversation about arrangements for a party outside of the library. We see the main character the school girl walking down the stairs (dark lightning) to show her dark and sad emotion. Her friends then acknowledge her presence when one asks You alright babe? Close-up of the school girl saying No I am not alright I just really need to speak to Stacey (with no emotion on her face. Pan movement while she walks away. One of her friends make the comment oh well you know you can always talk to us right and the school girl replies yeah in a weary and upset tone. Jump cut to a brown (wooden looking door with the sign Stacey Cornwell on the door) seconds after seeing the sign wear knocking on the door. We see another jump cut of a women sitting at her desk typing on the computer and another jump cut showing a close-up of the hand knocking on the door for roughly 3 seconds. The woman that appears to be Stacey Cornwell replies to the knock at the door by saying Come in The school girl then opens the door and we get a mid shot with a slight zoom on the school girls face. The school girl is then seated with her hand on the side of her face showing both characters in a midshot. Stacey says Hey hun, whats wrong? The school girl replies its my friend, something happened to her at a party. Stacey replies what and it has been bugging you all day? The school girl replies (mid-shot) yeah she told me not to tell anyone but I cant sit back and not do anything. (Over the shoulder shot) Stacey replies Okay go on say it whats wrong. (Jump cut) school girl shown in a medium close-up. Saying Some man he, he did stuff to her. Stacey then replies Okay and does she want to talk about it to you or to anyone? School girl replies Can you talk to her for me, can you go to her house and speak to her.

Vanessa Asante Jump cut & over the shoulder shot of Stacey Cornwell when she replies Of course, alright Im a social worker but obviously if I do go and see her I am not going to speak to her as a social worker because I wouldnt want to put any pressure on her, however, I will speak to her as a friend and give her advice and stuff. School girl replies Its affecting our relationship. (over the shoulder shot) Stacey replies Okay, dont let it bug you okay; I want you to do well at school I dont want you to worry about all the problems in your head okay. Jump cut showing a title on a black background and the white text The next evening...... (We see Stacey outside knocking on the door and then another shot from the inside looking outside at Stacey) We then hear a voice shouting One minute and see another school girl running down the stairs to answer the door. The School girl opens the door and says Urm Hi Stacey quickly replies back saying Hi Im Stacey, Natalies friend did she tell you I was coming? (The school girl replies very unwillingly saying Oh yeah she did, urm come in (we then see a still shot of both the school girl and Stacey, the school girl looking very upset, followed by a jump cut with a still text. The text reads Stacey was able to talk to Natalies friend Keisha and comfort her regarding the situation. Keisha is very grateful to Natalie for inviting Stacey. Followed by another title with the titling The end
