Statement of Purpose
I am writing to express my strong interest in the Master's in Mathematics program at Sabanci University,
Turkey. With a solid academic foundation in mathematics and practical teaching experience, I am eager to
deepen my understanding of applied mathematics and pursue meaningful research that connects theory with
real-world impact.
I completed my Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from Government College University Faisalabad,
Pakistan, with a CGPA of 3.5 out of 4. During my undergraduate studies, I developed a strong interest in the
practical applications of mathematical concepts, particularly how abstract theories can be used to solve
real-life problems. This motivated me to choose applied mathematics over pure mathematics for my future
academic path.
In parallel with my studies, I have been actively involved in teaching mathematics. I worked at a private
school where I taught mathematics to students from class 5 to class 10. Currently, I am serving as a school
teacher intern through a government initiative at Government Elementary School 399 JB, where I am teaching
English to classes 6, 7, and 8. These teaching experiences have not only strengthened my communication and
leadership skills but also deepened my appreciation for the transformative power of education.
My goal is to study mathematics thoroughly to understand its real-life implications and to help others see its
relevance and beauty. I aim to expand my knowledge, contribute to research, and ultimately give back to my
community by making mathematics more accessible and applicable for students. After completing my
Master's degree, I intend to pursue a PhD while also working at an educational institute to support myself
financially and remain engaged in teaching.
Coming from a financially modest background, continuing my studies in Pakistan has become increasingly
difficult due to economic constraints. Turkey presents not only an affordable option but also a culturally rich
and academically strong environment. Receiving a scholarship at Sabanci University would allow me to fully
dedicate myself to my academic goals without the burden of financial hardship. I am confident that studying in
Turkey will provide both the educational quality and the support system I need to succeed.
Sabanci University's emphasis on research and interdisciplinary learning aligns perfectly with my academic
and career objectives. I am particularly drawn to the university's modern curriculum, experienced faculty, and
vibrant international environment, which I believe will offer me the ideal platform to grow both academically
and professionally.
