SECTION A

1 Study Fig. 1 which is about a research project carried out at River Fresh Farm
near Okahandja in Namibia.
River Fresh Farm is a small-scale farm which is 6.1 hectares in size growing several kinds
of vegetables. It has ten permanent employees, but hires seasonal workers when there is an
increase in production.
The researchers conducted interviews with the manager and labourers. They collected
information about the different farming methods and the creation of job opportunities on the
farm. Their findings of the study will be used to try achieve higher yields and to improve food
security in Namibia.
