AMTRON INTERNSHIP PROGRAM 2025
STANDARD OPERATING PROCEDURE (SOP)
INTRODUCTION :
Assam Electronics Development Corporation Limited (AMTRON) is a public sector
undertaking under the Department of Information & Technology, Govt. of Assam. AEDC Ltd
was established in the 1984 with one of the objective to develop, promote, undertake and
execute Electronics, Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and allied industries
in the State of Assam. Emphasizing the role of ICT, Government of Assam (GoA) notified
(August 2009) the Information Technology Policy of Assam, 2009 and nominated the
Company as nodal agency for implementation of Information Technology policies in the State.
Since that golden moments , AMTRON is alive with its services in all respect of Govt activities.
AIMS & OBJECTIVES OF THE PROGRAM :
AMTRON has launched Internship Program at Head Office since 2017. Considering the NEP-
2020, AMTRON has started doing the onboarding of HEI since 2022. Most of the Govt
Colleges and Universities are on boarded since 2022.
“AMTRON INTERNSHIP PROGRAM (Mass) 2025” is introduced after Pilot Project in
three Institutions and complete alignment with UGC/ University guidelines.
AMTRON Internship Program primarily aims to provide the undergraduate students with a live
experience of cooperative learning, community engagement, digital literacy, developing soft
skill and Induction into corporate level communications and working environment.
Assam is currently seeing a strategic change in all aspects. The state is witnessing a drastic
developmental in creating a new market and industry especially in the Information &
Technology, Science, Engineering, Technical and ITeS (IT enabled Services) sector. This new
industrial market needs a good number of skilled manpower & efficient professionals to
function smoothly and contribute to the economy.
Being a Public Sector of Assam Govt, AMTRON aims to fulfill the Academic requirements of
the students of Assam and make them employable by giving them a live experience of industry
in spite of limited infrastructure in our region.

1. DURATION OF INTERNSHIP
AMTRON INTERNSHIP PROGRAM 2025 is a program of duration 30 Hrs--120 Hrs
designed as per guidelines raised by UGC and also aligned to the standard methods of practice
issued by different universities as per their requirements. The program is usually conducted
throughout the year but more preferably in the Summer & Winter breaks when the students get
sufficient time apart from their regular classes to devote to this specific purpose.
2. MODE OF THE INTERNSHIP
The Internship Program is conducted in a hybrid mode to give the Industry environment at the
Institution i.e. both Online (By Industry Expert) and Offline Interactive sessions ( by Resident
Faculty) , Hands on Practical , Project , Field Survey for data Collection etc. The number of
sessions for each mode may vary as per total duration.
For Arts, Science students Office Automation and for Commerce students the Computerised
Financial accounting is given priority during the Program. VAC (Value Added Course)
modules are to be selected considering the requirement and time constrain.
3. PROCEDURE OF THE INTERNSHIP PROGRAM:
3.1 The nominated Nodal officer of the HEI will formally collaborate with the UNIVERSITY
RELATIONS CELL (URC) of AMTRON for conduction of Internship Program for the
students of the respective Higher Educational Institution (HEI).
As per the recent guidelines by UGC, the HEI may create an IRC (Industry Relations Cell) for
conduction of the internship program and industry-academia collaborations.
3.2 After the formal request for collaboration is sent by either of the parties and accepted by
both the parties, AMTRON will assign one nodal person for arrangement of Internship Program
in the Institution. The Nodal Person will also act as a Resident Mentor (RM) to provide
dedicated services to the HEI.
3.3 The Nodal Person assigned by AMTRON for that particular institution will coordinate with
the Nodal Person of that Institution for finalisation of Internship Domains, Total Number of
Interns to be registered, Grouping of Interns, Both the Nodal Persons shall also finalise the
costs associated with the conduction of the internship, remuneration to the mentors, faculties,
Laboratories , Centre Development cost, other related expenditure, process of evaluation of the
interns etc. The Nodal Person by the Institution may include available or new VAC modules
for the Internship program for the Institution. The URC of AMTRON will review the new
modules depending on availability of resources and work on the development of the domain
if possible. The selected Activity details in the Internship program will be shared with both the
parties. A MoU will be signed by both the parties with start and end date of the program

3.4 The Nodal Person of the HEI shall prepare a list of students to be registered under
AMTRON with all necessary details including the internship domains for each student and
submit to the URC of AMTRON. URC will verify the details of the interns and publish the
final list of the students with Samarth Enrollment Number and AMTRON registration number
and will get it verified / countersigned by the Nodal Person of the Institution for final approval.
3.4 The UNIVERSITY RELATIONS CELL (URC) under Education & Training Division
of AMTRON will ensure all the formalities of digital data processing as per the requirements
of the specific university/HEI.
3.5 After the process is completed, the HEI may conduct an Awareness Seminar on Internship
Program which shall be attended by representatives from AMTRON to inform the Students
about the Internship and various aspects related to the program. They shall be enlightened to
know about various career opportunities and skills in the Internship Awareness Seminar.
3.6 AMTRON will assign one mentor for each group of Interns along with the RM assigned
for one specific HEI. The RM shall be responsible for providing the activities to the interns on
their specific domains in hybrid mode.
3.7 The Nodal Person from both the Industry and the Academic Institution shall be responsible
for keeping the attendance of the interns, and inform any inconvenience which may arise during
the internship. Mentors from AMTRON shall prepare a fortnightly Quantitative Progress
Report of Interns to be provided to the HEI and also take part in discussing the future actions
to be taken.
3.8 Once the Internship Program is completed, the mentors from AMTRON shall prepare the
final Progress report of the Interns and send it to the URC of AMTRON. The URC shall prepare
the Gross Progress Report (GPR)s for the internal use of the HEI.
3.9 AMTRON URC will issue a Certificate of Completion (CoC) to the HEI and one
Individual Certificates to each student indicating their performance .
3.10 The HEI shall issue a certificate to AMTRON after completion of the Program indicating
the satisfaction level in the program.
