SQL-Ledger

SQL-Ledger® ERP is double-entry accounting/ERP. Any text or graphical browser can

access accounting data on a SQL database server. A chart of accounts connects the system.
Each item has income, expense, inventory, and tax accounts. Sales and purchases quickly
update accounts. Using assembly, you can build products from parts, services, labor units, and
assemblies. When an assembly is sold, all linked accounts are updated and stock levels are
adjusted. Invoices, packing lists, income statements, balance sheets, sales, work, and purchase
orders, statements, receipts, and checks are generated using templates. HTML, TeX, and Text
are template formats. Latex converts tex to postscript and PDF. Using a PDF viewer, documents
can be emailed, printed, or faxed. Each customer/vendor can define the translation process for
items and foreign language templates, allowing invoices to be generated in a foreign language
without linguistic proficiency. This translation tool can create distinct forms for clients or
suppliers.
Foreign currency transactions are immediately converted, and exchange rate
differences, gains and losses are recorded. AR, AP, and GL reports can be changed and sorted to
generate a huge number of reports, aging reports show what's outstanding, and the tax report
lists taxable transactions for taxes collected and paid. The GL report generates sales and buy
journals and ledgers. You can examine and edit account transactions systemwide. Users can
choose language and data source. One installation can have a different language, books, or SQL
database server. Users can only access particular areas or functions of menus. Unavailable
menu items are hidden. New items automatically enter the access control system. All
transactions or until a certain date can be audited. Erroneous transactions must be reversed
and re-posted under audit control. If more control is needed, it's easy to add extra SQL server
functions.
External perl code can update SQL-Ledger globally and per login. Unmodified code can
be added. The command line interface allows real-time or batch app construction and
interaction. This allows offline remote apps or POS with a separate storage system to
communicate. SQL-Ledger users can be in various towns, nations, or continents. SQL-Ledger
runs on *NIX, Mac, and Windows.
