At a B1 level, you can use a variety of verbs to express likes and preferences.

Here are some common


ones:

Expressing Likes

1. Like – "I like watching movies."


2. Love – "She loves playing the guitar."
3. Enjoy – "We enjoy traveling."
4. Be keen on – "He's keen on football."
5. Be fond of – "I'm fond of classical music."
6. Be into – "They're really into photography."
7. Prefer – "I prefer tea to coffee."

Expressing Dislikes

8. Dislike – "She dislikes waking up early."


9. Hate – "He hates doing homework."
10. Can’t stand – "I can't stand loud music."
11. Can’t bear – "She can’t bear the heat."
12. Be not a fan of – "I'm not a fan of spicy food."

Expressing Preferences

13. Would rather – "I would rather stay home than go out."
14. Would prefer – "I would prefer coffee, please."
15. Tend to – "He tends to watch a lot of documentaries."

2. Love – What is something you absolutely love?
3. Enjoy – Do you enjoy trying new foods? Why or why not?
4. Be keen on – Are you keen on any particular hobby or sport?
5. Be fond of – Is there a type of music you're fond of?
6. Be into – What kind of movies or TV series are you into these days?
7. Prefer – Do you prefer summer or winter? Why?

Expressing Dislikes

8. Dislike – Is there a food you dislike? Why?


9. Hate – Is there a chore you really hate doing?
10. Can’t stand – What’s something you can’t stand about public transport?
11. Can’t bear – Is there a type of music or noise you can’t bear?
12. Be not a fan of – Are you not a fan of any popular trend or activity?
