AQEEDAH CLASS 1

EXALTED PARENTS OF RASOOLULLAH (Sallallahu Alayhi wasallam)

1. Status of The Blessed Feet of Rasoolullah Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam.

[Balad 90:1 and 2] I swear by this city (Makkah). For you (O dear Prophet
Muhammad – peace and blessings be upon him) are in this city.

SubhanALLAH, we learned that the Blessed Feet of Our Nabi, Allah’s Habeeb, The
Intercessor of The Sinners Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam are such exalted, such high in
status, such blessed that Allah Ta’ala swears by the city Makkah due to the presence
of Allah’s Habeeb Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam in Makkah.

When this is clear in light of The Holy Quran that The Blessed Feet of Our Nabi
Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam are such exalted that Allah Ta’ala swears through the
presence of Nabi e Kareem Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam, then who can guess the status
of the Resting place of The Mubarak, The Blessed, The Fragrant Body of Nabi e
Kareem Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam ?

This is why The Muhaddisoon and Mufassiroon have unanimously said the The Place
which touches the Blessed Body of Allah’s Habeeb Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam is higher
in status than of The Holy Ka’bah, The Kursi and also higher than The Arsh, (The
Throne).

Let us also ponder on the area called as “Riyaadul Jannah” in Madeenah ul

Munawwarah, It is in The Hadees Shareef that:

That which is between My House and My Pulpit is a garden from the gardens of
Paradise. (Sahih Bukhari Book 21, Hadees 286, Sahih Muslim Book 7 Hadees 3205)

If one deeply think at this point that why Nabi e Kareem Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam
selected this particular area as The Garden of Paradise? Then one will have to
conclude saying that Nabi e Kareem Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam blessed this place
many a times during His Blessed Life in Madeenah Shareef, for every prayer from His
Mubarak House towards the Mimbar Shareef for Salah, and again back to His Mubarak
House, and this had happened thousands of Times, so the conclusion would be that
this Blessed area got more chances to Kiss The Blessed Feet of Nabi e Kareem
Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam for which this has been made Riyaad ul Jannah.
SubhanALLAH.
2. Status of Those who were blessed with the companionship of Nabi e Kareem
Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam.

[Surah Al Hadeed 57:10] And what is the matter with you that you should not spend in
Allah’s cause, whereas Allah is the Inheritor of all that is in the heavens and in the
earth? Those among you who spent and fought before the conquest of Mecca are not
equal to others; they are greater in rank than those who spent and fought after the
conquest; and Allah has promised Paradise to all of them; and Allah well knows what
you do.

And Nabi e Kareem Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam states:

Fire will not touch the Muslim who saw Me, and the Muslim who saw the Muslim who saw
Me. (Jaami’ Tirmizi Book 46 Hadees 3858, Mishkath ul Masabih, Ma’rifatus Sahabah by Abi
Nuaym)

And a Sahabi is a one who saw or heard Rasoolullah Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam in the
state of Imaan and left this world in the state of Imaan, Thus not only Sahaba but
those who saw these Noble People in the state of Imaan (Taabaeen) are also protected
by the Barakah of Nabi e Kareem Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam.

3. Status of the things touched by Nabi e Kareem Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam.

Once some guests came to visit Hazrat Anas Bin Maalik RadiyALLAHU Anhu. He entertained
them with a meal. The tablecloth became dirty and discoloured, due to some curry spilling
upon it. Hazrat Anas instructed the maid servant to cast it into the burning furnace. The
servant did as she was commanded. The guests were astonished at this command. When the
tablecloth was thrown into the burning furnace, they awaited the appearance of smoke to
indicate that the tablecloth was burning. But instead when the tablecloth was removed from
the fire, it was still intact and had become clean. They asked him: "O Companion of Rasool
Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam, why did this tablecloth not burn in the fire? And instead of
burning, had become perfectly clean, Hazrat Anas replied: "The reason for the tablecloth not
burning is this that on various occasions Rasoolullah Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam cleansed His
Hands and Lips with this cloth". (Abu Nuaym, Al Khasaais al Kubra, Masnavi Shareef)

SubhanALLAH, The place which kissed the blessed Feet of Rasoolullah Sallallahu Alayhi
Wasallam beacme a garden of Paradise, the fire could not burn the table cloth
touched by Rasoolullah Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam, and fire cannot touch the Muslim
who saw or heard Rasoolullah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam in the state of Imaan, further
the fire will not touch the one who saw a Sahabi, then how come the Blessed Body of
Syida Aaminah RadiyALLAHU Anha who carried the Noor of Nabi e Kareem Sallallahu
Alayhi Wasallam be in the Hell fire? How come The Blessed Body of Syiduna Abdullah
RadiyALLAHU Anhu and the blessed bodies of those of the Lineage of Allah’s Habeeb
Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam through whom The Exalted Noor of Allah’s Habeeb
Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam was transferred be in the Hell fire ?
4. Genealogy of Nabi e Kareem Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam.

[Surah At Taubah 9:128] Indeed there has come to you a Noble Messenger from
among you - your falling into hardship aggrieves him, most concerned for your
well being, for the Muslims most compassionate, most merciful.

In another reading the Faa (in Arabic) is pronounced with a Zabbar, MIN ANFASIKUM
which would mean that This Most Honourable Prophet has come from a most
honourable group or society.

Nabi e Kareem Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam states; I have been sent from the best
group of the children of Adam, from one group to the next, till I am in that group
which I am. (Bukhari Vol 4, Book 56, Hadees 757, Kitab ash Shifa)

The above verse and The Hadees substantiates that the Holy Prophet Sallallahu Alayhi
Wasallam has been carried along the best and most noble group. The revolution of His
light (Noor) has always remained within clean and pure wombs. Whose womb can be
considered as clean and pure, but that of a true Believer in One Almighty Allah!

5. Dua of Syiduna Ibrahim Alayhissalam :

[Surah Al Baqarah 2:128] "Our Lord! And make us submissive towards you and from
our offspring a nation obedient to You - and show us the ways of our worship, and
incline towards us with Your mercy; indeed You only are the Most Acceptor of
Repentance, the Most Merciful."

[Baqarah 2:129] "Our Lord! And send towards them a Noble Messenger, from
amongst them, to recite to them Your verses, and to instruct them in Your Book and
sound wisdom, and to fully purify them; indeed You only are the Almighty, the Wise.”

6. [Shua`ra 26:219] And watches your movements among those who prostrate in
prayer.

Hazrat Abdullah Ibn Abbas RadiyALLAHU Anhuma explained the word “movement” as
the blessed the pure and sublime people until it came into Hazrat Syida Aaminah
RadiyALLAHU Anha. (Tafsir Samarqandi H 373, Tafsir Al Kabeer by Imam Raazi H 606,
Tafsir Aalusi H 1270 )

Hazrat Ali RadiyALLAHU Anhu narrated, During every period there were at least
seven Muslims inhabiting the entire earth at all times. At any given time, if there
had been no believers on the earth, then the earth and those on it would have
been destroyed. (Musannaf Abdul Razzaq H 211, Ibn e Munzir H 318, Imam Suyuti
in Ad Durrul Mansoor H 911)
7. [Surah Al Baqarah 2:221] And do not marry polytheist women until they become
Muslims; for undoubtedly a Muslim bondwoman is better than a polytheist woman,
although you may like her; and do not give your women in marriage to polytheist men
until they accept faith; for undoubtedly a Muslim slave is better than a polytheist,
although you may like him; they invite you towards the fire; and Allah invites towards
Paradise and forgiveness by His command; and explains His verses to mankind so that
they may accept guidance.

Nabi e Kareem Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam said, Whenever humanity was divided into two
sections. I was placed by Allah Almighty in that section which was better. My birth took
place by my parents in such condition that not a single practice of the period of ignorance
had mixed with mine. From the time of Hazrat Adam Alayhissalam none of my forefathers
and mothers have been born in evil. I am better than all of you in terms of person and
parentage”. (Recorded in many Tafsirs)

Hazrath Syiduna Abbas RadiyALLAHU Anhu reported that he came to the Holy
Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam while he was in such a condition as he heard
something ( about his linage from unbelievers ). The Holy Prophet got up to the
pulpit and asked, "who am I?" They replied, "You are the messenger of Allah." He
said, "I am Muhammed, son of Abdullah, son of Abdul Muttalib. Allah created
creations and made me the best of them. Then he divided them into two groups
and made me the best of the two. Then he divided them into tribes and made me
the best of the tribes. Then he made them into families and made me the best of
the families. I am the best of them as a member and the best of them as a family.
(Jaami’ Tirmizi Book 45 Hadees 3532 and book 46 Hadees 3607 and 3608, Mishkat
al Masabih).

Syidah Aishah Siddiqah RadiyALLAHU Anha states that Nabi e Kareem Sallallahu Alaihi
Wasallam said: Hazrat Jibraeel Alaihissalam came to me and said I had searched the
earth from East to West wherein I found no one more superior than thee, and in
the tribes, the Banu Hashim to be most superior, (in terms of person and
genealogy you are most superior) (Al Mu’jam Al Awsat by Imam Tabarani, Dalaail an
Nubiuwwah by Imam Baihaqi, Imam Suyuti in Jaami Al Saghir, Kanzul Ummaal, Hafiz
Ibn Kathir in his Tafsir Surah Al An’aam Verse 123 and also in Al Bidayah)

Imaam ibn Hajr Rahmatullahi Alayhi says: “Superiority is contrary to polytheism”.

From this it becomes clear that all the forefathers were totally pure from all from of
indecencies”.
8. [Surah At Taubah 9:28] O People who Believe! Truly the pagans are impure,

Nabi e Kareem Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam states, Almighty Allah always transferred
Me from one pure and sacred progenitor to another. When this pure and sacred
generation gave birth to two branches, I was born from the best amongst the two.
(Abu Nuaym in Dalaail un Nubuwwah)

Also stated, I was always transferred from the backs of pure males to the backs of
pure females (Abu Nauaym in Dalaail un Nubuwwah, Imam Suyuti in Al Have Lil
Fatawa and in many Tafsir)

9. [Surah Al Hujurat 49:13] O mankind! We have indeed created you from one man
and one woman, and have made you into various nations and tribes so that you may
know one another; indeed the more honourable among you, in the sight of Allah, is
one who is more pious among you; indeed Allah is All Knowing, All Aware. (Piety is
the basis of honour in Allah’s sight.)

[Surah Al Munafiqoon 63:8] They say, “If we return to Medinah, then indeed the
honourable group will soon expel the lowly one”; whereas all honour belongs to
Allah and to His Noble Messenger and to the Muslims, but the hypocrites do not
know.

In the above two Ayahs, Allah has precisely specified and separated the Muslim and
no matter how honourable a family a Kaafir may be from, he was condemned and
dishonoured. It is not an honour for someone to be born from dishonourable
forefathers. It is therefore Haram to be proud of being a progeny of Kaafir
forefathers.

Nabi e Kareem Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam stated, One who intends to express
recognition and reverence by listing nine of his Kaafir ancestors that he is the progeny
of so and so then the tenth descendant, who he is, is in the Fire of Hell. (Imam
Ahmad)

Nabi e Kareem Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam stated, I am Muhammad s/o Abdullahh s/o
Abdul Muttalib s/o Haashim s/o Abdul Munaaf s/o Qusayy s/o Kilaab s/o Marraa s/o
Kaab s/o Lawee s/o Ghaalib s/o Fahar s/o Maalik s/o al-Nadar s/o Kinaana s/o
Khuzayma s/o Mudraka s/o Nazaar s/o Ma ‘d s/o Adnaan [after relating 21 pious
generations, he said], never at any time when people were divided into two groups
that Allah made me of the best of them. So I was born from my parents in a state that
was pure of all evils of the years of ignorance and I was born from a pure valid Nikah
[marriage]. All my ancestors from Nabi Adam till my parents were the pure and
best of people on earth and my Father was the best of Fathers amongst you.
(Bayhaqi, Ibn Asaakir)
This Hadees Shareef mentions 3 important points:

Firstly, the negation of all corruption and its infiltration or impact on his pure
ancestors in the years of Jahiliyyah which is a sound proof on its own because the
most common of sins was Zinā (adultery).

Secondly, immorality amongst which Zina is top of the list, and this was outrightly
refuted.

Thirdly, Allah’s Habeeb said that His Father is the best amongst the Fathers of all
generations.

10. [Ana`am 6:124] And when a sign comes to them, they say, “We will not believe
until we are given the same which Allah’s Noble Messengers were given”; Allah knows
best where to place His message (Prophethood); soon the guilty will be afflicted
with disgrace before Allah and a severe punishment due to their scheming.

The above Ayah clearly advocates the fact that Almighty Allah selects the most
appropriate and exalted of His creation to bestow the Risaalah (Prophethood).
Therefore Allah has not blessed any undignified nation or person with the Amaanah of
Prophethood. Furthermore, what can be more undignified or filthy than Kufr and Shirk
and why should He entrust the stately station of Risaalah on them? The Kuffaar and
Mushrikeen are worthy of Divine Anger and Wrath while the station of Prophethood
demands Mercy and Compassion.

11. Once, Ummul Mu’mineen Syyidah Aishah Siddeeqah Radiyallahu Anha was
overwhelmed with fear and wept bitterly. Sayyiduna Abdullah Radiyallahu Anhu
saw her sorrowful state and said; “O Ummul Mu’mineen! Do you think that
Almighty Allah has made a single spark of Jahannam a companion of Sayyiduna wa
Mawlana Mustafa Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam ? She replied: You have removed my
sorrow and may Allah remove your sorrow.

Also Nabi e Kareem Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam states; Verily, Allah has ordained for
my Nikah only women from Ahl ul Jannah (Ibn Asaakir)

If Allah Tha’ala disliked His Beloved Habeeb to have a Kaafirah or Mushrikah as a wife,
then how would Allah Tha’ala allow His birth from the blood of a Kaafirah or
Mushrikah?

From these Ahaadees an important fact is established, that all the illustrious fore-
fathers and the mothers were believers.
12. [Duha 93:5] And indeed your Lord will soon give you so much that you will be
pleased.

And Nabi e Kareem Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam states; When Almighty Allah has
promised to please me, then I will not be pleased, if even one of my Ummah was
left in the fire of hell.' (Tafsir Al Kabeer, Tafsir At Tabari, Ibn Kathir, Tafsir Al
Qurtubi, Tafsir An Nasafi, Tafsir Ad Durrul Mansoor)

Also said, I will intercede for my Ummah until my Creator summons me (saying), O
Muhammad Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam! Are you pleased?' then I will answer by
saying, O My Creator! I am pleased' (Tafsir Al Qurtubi, Ad Durrul Manthoor,
Tabarani in Awsat, Al Bazzaar, At Tawheed by Ibn Khuzayma).

When Nabi e Kareem Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam will not like we as Muslims to be in
the Hell and also our parents to be in the Hell, then how come Our Nabi will be
pleased if His Parents are in the Hell ? Whereas it is proven that All the Parents of all
The Prophets were believers, then how come The parents of The Leader of all the
Prophets and The Soul of The Creation be Non believers? In other words, will Allah
send all the Parents of Ambiya to Jannah and not bless the Parents of His Habeeb
who were blessed with the excellence of carrying the Noor of Allah’s Habeeb with
Jannah?

Indeed They were believers and all the forefathers also were Believers.

OBJECTIONS. The Hadees quoted by the misled to regard them as Kafirs. Ma’azALLAH

1. Holy Prophet Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam sought permission from Allah Ta’ala to
visit the grave of His mother, not to seek her forgiveness.

ANSWER : We ask, in all honesty, that if She was a disbeliever, why was he even given
permission to visit her grave when it is stated explicitly in the Holy Quran not to even
visit the graves of disbelievers? this proves that she was not a disbeliever or else He
would not have been given permission to even stand at Her grave. As to the question
of forgiveness, He was not permitted to ask for Their forgiveness because They were
not sinners. A sinner or disbeliever is he upon whom a set of Divine Laws has reached
and who intentionally violates it. A set of pure Divine Laws did not reach the Parent's
of Rasoolullah (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam), yet they believed in One Allah. How then
could they be termed as idolaters? Further, to seek forgiveness for a disbeliever is
Kufr, and A Nabi is Masoom thus will never act or ask for a thing which is Kufr, so to
say The Holy Prophet was not given permission because She was a disbeliever is to
accuse The Holy Prophet as well for committing Kufr by seeking forgiveness for a
Kafir. (Ma’azALLAH). This is a clear misinterpretation to call them Non Believers and
this shows the enimosity towards Allah’s Habeeb Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam.
2. A man said, ‘O Messenger of Allah! Where is my father?’ He said: ‘In the fire.’
When the man left, The Prophet said: ‘Verily my father and your father are in the
fire.’ (Sahih Muslim, Book of Iman, chapter 88).

ANSWER : Seemingly, the Hadees of Sahih Muslim indicates that Rasool Sallallahu
Alayhi Wasallam himself said that his father was in the fire. In answer to this, the
scholars have given many answers:

A. By father (Ab), the Holy Prophet Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam meant his uncle Abu
Talib. Quite often, the Arabs use to word father (Ab) to mean their paternal uncle.
In fact, there are places in the Qur’an where Ab has been used to mean Uncle.

B. The Hadees of Imam Muslim may be Sahih but the narrators do not agree on the
words ‘Verily my father and your father are in the fire’. The chain (sanad) that
Imam Muslim used is that of Hammad ibn Salama from Thabit from Hazrat Anas.
This chain contradicts the chain of Mu’ammar, from Thabit, from Hazrat Anas,
which does not mention those words, but instead says: ‘When you pass by the grave
of a disbeliever, tell him of the fire.’ There is no mention of the Prophet’s father
in this latter version whatsoever and moreover, its chain is more established as
Mu’ammar is more reliable than Hammad, whose memory has been questioned and
some of whose narrations have been rejected. Imam al-Bukhari did not take
anything from him, nor did Imam Muslim in the usul.

C. Even if we assume that this narration of Imam Muslim is of acceptable standard,

then it is still rejected in light of the clear verses (e.g. Surah Bani Israil : Verse 15:
and We never punish until We have sent a Noble Messenger). that oppose it.
When a Hadees and a Quranic verse seemingly give different messages, then
precedence is given to the Holy Quran.

3. If all the forefathers of Nabi e Kareem Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam were to be

regarded as believers, then what about the Verse The Verse of The Holy Quran where
Nabi Ibrahim Alayhissalam’s father is regarded as a Kafir ? and Our Prophet Sallallahu
Alayhi wasallam is from the offspring of Nabi Ibrahim Alayhissalam.

{Surah Al An’aam : Verse 74} And remember when Ibrahim said to his father Aazar,
“What! You appoint idols as Gods? Indeed I find you and your people in open error.”

ANSWER : The Holy Quran was revealed upon Nabi e Kareem Sallallahu Alayhi
Wasallam and obviously He Sallallahu Alayhi wasallam was well aware of this
Verse, yet He Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam mentioning the Purity and Imaan of His
Ancestors elaborates that Aazar was uncle of Nabi Ibrahim Alayhissalam and not
the Father as we already mentioned about the term AB in The Holy Quran being
used for uncle as well. And this is clear in light of The Tafsir as well thus the
proper translation would be:

And remember when Ibrahim said to his father (paternal uncle) Aazar, “What! You
appoint idols as Gods? Indeed I find you and your people in open error.”

Important Warning :

Anyone who likes and accepts this notion, then it is best otherwise there is nothing
lesser than this opinion and one must control one’s tongue and have a clean heart and
fear, this may hurt the feelings of the compassionate Nabi e Kareem Sallallahu Alayhi
Wasallam.

Imam Ibn Hajar Makki states in his Sharah: How beautifully some Ulama of deen
commented that if anyone who hesitates on this topic, beware and control your
tongue by speaking any ill about the noble Parents of the Nabi because this may result
in hurting the feelings of the Holy Prophet of Allah . It is reported in the Hadees
Shareef of Imam Tabran that Sayyiduna Rasoolullah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam stated;
‘Do not insult the dead and hurt the living’.

Our Nabi Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam is and will be alive till eternity and he is fully
aware (by the blessings of Allah) of all the actions, intentions and conditions of every
member of his Ummah. Almighty Allah states:

{Surah Al Taubah : Verse 61} and for those who trouble the Noble Messenger of Allah, is a
painful punishment.

Therefore, it is most wise to be very cautious is such avenues of Deen. Be careful as

you are stepping on a sharp blade of a sword.

Does the conscious of your Imaan accept that the beggars of the servants of the
Beloved Mustafa Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam relax and enjoy the pleasures of Jannat ul
Firdous while [Allah forbid) the beloved Parents of the Habeeb are humiliated by
facing the torment and discomfort of the Fire of Hell! Do we forget that Allah created
Al-Jannah due to the Barakaat and Sadaqah of the Na‘lain Shareefain (Sacred Sandals)
of His Habeeb Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam. How can it ever be possible that the
Servants of Sayyiduna Mustafa enjoy all these pleasures and comfort while his noble
Parents are left to suffer in the Fire of Hell ???
