Integration between Unity Connection and CUCM (SIP)

.,

Below is the complete process which we will follow to complete this integration.
 Create SIP Trunk Security Profile
 Create a SIP Profile
 Create SIP trunk towards Unity Connection
 Create Routing towards Unity Connection
 Create Voicemail Pilot and Profile
 Configure Unity Connection Configuration
Login into Cisco Call Manager and select appropriate option as below

Create SIP Trunk Security Profile


Select System > Security > SIP Trunk Security Profile.

Click Add New and create new profile with below parameter.
Configure the new SIP Trunk Security Profile with the following parameters and then
click Save:
 Name: Unity_Connection_Profile
 Description: For Unity Connection Integration
 Check the box Accept out-of-dialog refer.
 Check the box Accept unsolicited notification.
 Check the box Accept replaces header.
 Keep all other parameters at their default values.
Create a SIP Profile
Select Device>Device Setting > SIP Profile

Select the Default SIP Profile and make the copy and then we can configure as below to
complete SIP profile configure and click on Save. Please also make note that we should not
make any changes in default SIP profile as best practice
.

 Name: Standard SIP Profile+PING


 Description: Default SIP Profile
 Check the box Enable OPTIONS Ping to Monitor destination status for Trunks with
Service Type “Name (Default)”

Once the SIP profiles have been created, the SIP trunk pointing to Unity Connection can be
configured.
Create SIP trunk towards Unity Connection

Select Device > Trunk

 Device Name: Unity_Connection_TRK


 Description: For Unity Connection
 Device Pool: Default
 In the Inbound Calls section, check the box Redirecting Diversion Header Delivery –
Inbound.
 In the Outbound Calls section, check the box Redirecting Diversion Header Delivery
– Outbound.
 Destination Address: 10.10.10.1
 Destination Port: 5060
 SIP Trunk Security Profile: Unity_Connection_Profile
 SIP Profile: Standard SIP Profile+PING
Create Routing towards Unity Connection

Once SIP trunk profile is complete we can move for Routing to create towards Unity
Connection

Select Call Routing > Route/Hunt > Route Group

Configure the Route Group as below.


Select Call Routing > Route/Hunt > Route List.

Enter Unity_RL as the name of the new route list. Choose the Default as
the Communication Manager Group and then click Save.
From the Route List Member Information section, click Add Route Group.
Now click on Call Routing > Route/Hunt > Route Pattern

Enter a Route Pattern of 1999,select Unity_RL as the Gateway/Route List and then
click Save.
Create Voicemail Pilot and Profile

Select Advanced Features > Voice Mail > Voice Mail Pilot.

Configure the following parameters, and then click Save:


 Voice Mail Pilot Number: 1999
 Calling Search Space: None (where CUCM will find the pilot number)
 Description: Unity_VoiceMail
 Check the box Make this the default Voice Mail Pilot for the system.

Configure Unity Connection Configurations

Once Above configuration is completed in CUCM after that we should restart the SIP trunk.

Now we move forward for Unity configuration to complete this integration.

Select the Telephony Integration > Phone System > Add New
And you can able to see at the top of the page that a port group must be added.
Click Go next to Add Port Group in the Related Links dropdown.

Select Phone System > CUC-SIP


Port Group Type > SIP
Display Name > CUC-SIP-1 ( this you can change as per your choice)
SIP Security Profile > 5060
SIP Transport Protocol > TCP
Primary CUCM Server IP Address > 10.10.10.2
and now we create the ports and assign them into port group and after that we should restart
the port group to enable to take the calls.
Create new ports by setting the following parameters and then click Save:
 Check the box Enabled.
 Number of ports: 16
 Phone System: CUCM SIP
 Port Group: CUCM SIP-1
 Server: <unity-PUB>
 Check all the boxes under Port Behavior.

Unity Configuration is completed now and Click on Check Telephony Configuration to test
the configuration and result should be like as below.

Hope this chapter will help you to integrate between Cisco Unity Connection and Cisco
Call Manager.
