Since my early teenage years I have had a strong interest in the world that I live in; wanting to

understand where mine and others’ places can be and are in society; not just locally but globally,
so I follow current affairs programmes on the television and read newspapers and journals, such
as the ‘Economist’, with interest.

However, I wish to explore further the causes and effects of human interactions. The study of
economics and politics provides explanations and predictions, as well as more universal theories,
which underlie human behaviour, as well as offering insight into the validity of the various
political choices competing for our favou

The subjects I am studying at A Level provide a good grounding in skills and knowledge for
these two interrelated disciplines. English Language ensures that I can analyse, and communicate
clearly and effectively, in both the spoken and written mode.

History – the study of the past and its implications – is most valuable as it provides research
skills and improves my essay writing, as does Psychology which also gives some insights into
how our minds variously function. Physics develops experimental and – along with Mathematics
– analytical and problem solving skills, as well as ensuring my abilities have breadt

I am most enthusiastic at the prospect of having my abilities stretched and raised to a much higher
standard, especially as I have not studied economics or politics before.

By the end of my degree course I also expect to be a more astute, mature person; I shall certainly
take advantage of all the various social and sporting opportunities your university offers.

It is my current career ambition to have a job in professional politics as an MP, to play a part in
national policy making and legislation, as well as experiencing the pride of being a democratic
representative of the people.

This ambition flows from my concern for the wellbeing of others and the continued freedom of
our people. Your degree course is ideal preparation for this career because it will impart the
knowledge necessary for informed policy formation, and the skills – such as good
communication and effective debating – needed to succeed in this competitive occupation.

I am a member of the Conservative party and follow their policy reformation after 1997 with
interest. Currently my other interests include science and technology – I enjoy reading the ‘New
Scientist’ journal, for instance – as well as computers, of which I regard myself as an advanced
use

For example, I use the Internet for study and research into areas of interest, such as comment on
government policy decisions, and upgrading hardware myself. Also, last year I had a 3D
computer game ‘add-on’ – designed by myself over a lengthy period, teaching myself a great
number of skills in this field – packaged on a number of international magazines, including the
UK-based ‘PC Gamer’.
I also enjoy walking with my family and our dogs in the Dorset countryside, and am a member
of the Vegan Society.

I am eager to break and, frankly, shatter the glass ceiling that society has set for how Native
Americans are typically viewed. I truly believe I can make a difference. With almost a decade of
solid work experience as a teacher and the limits that I have set for myself, know no boundaries.
I have taught many students over my career so far and can definitely help and motivate them to
become better themselves. Teaching is an ideal profession to help others determine and reach
their potential.

At this point in my career, I feel I have exhausted every possible avenue of challenge at my
current academic level and am seeking additional training to become a more prolific leader for
the Native community. I have only applied to Penn State as they specialize in funding given to
qualified and motivated Native Americans. Overall, I anticipate a program that will guide me
towards social justice in the XXX century. The school itself will provide outreach opportunities
that will give me an edge in the field of Education Leadership.

At the heart of my career aims is my unswerving desire to help my students learn and better
themselves, motivating them to become positive contributors to society. I would describe myself
as being persistent, patient, and a very hard worker and seldom take no for an answer. In order to
be more successful in helping others, I need to increase my grasp of an understanding of the
fundamental areas of Educational leadership, such as administration, planning, organizing, and
refine my existing leadership skills.

While I would love to teach in an effective environment where everyone (students, teachers,
administrators, and principal) contributes to the learning process, I recognize that this is highly
unrealistic in today's environment. There is simply a great deal of distractions including TV, cell
phones, IPods, etc. The classroom and teaching represent a challenging career. However, what
many call the pressures of the job, I find invigorating, and I look forward to each day with great
eagerness. No child, no student, is incapable of learning when they remain focused and involved,
completing their work not only in school, but being disciplined enough to continue the process at
home, as well. Nothing brings me more personal or professional satisfaction when my students
demonstrate their understanding and grasp of course material.

The ongoing issues of education among Navajo Indians need improvement. I have a dream to
lead the Navajo people into the XXX century of education, breaking stereotypes that have
plagued the Navajo, descriptions such as poor, lazy, and unmotivated.

In my experience thus far, I have seen and experienced effective and ineffective principals. The
majority of the ineffective principals had poor or an unsustainable set of leadership skills. In
order to be a successful principal, one must be a great leader and inspire others, with a constant
eye towards continuous improvement. Rather than take a one-size-fits-all approach, more quality
educational programs need to be developed, funded, and sustained. The ultimate end would be
for all students, post-graduation, to go on to further education, graduate and inspire others to do
the same. The Native Americans and society would be much better off to have more intelligent
and intellectual people for the future and generations to follow, as active participants and role
models.

In addition to eventually obtaining a masters degree in Education Leadership and participating in

the Principals for Student Success XXX Program, I envision enriching my educational
experience by immersing myself in such topics as organization theory, school law, negotiations,
and even finance in education. One of my long-term goals is to serve the community as a
superintendent, meeting objectives that measure just how well middle schools and the district are
performing.

As a graduate of the University of XXX, I feel that XXX University would challenge me to do
even better to attain my dreams and aspirations. The degree that I seek is meant to train
educational supervisors and make me the best I that I can truly be. I take opportunities as they
come, and where they do not present themselves, I create them. Even now, from my desk chair, I
can see out the window, facing the only direction I have ever known: forward. Thank you for
your time and consideration

The quality of a country’s human capital is primarily shaped by education. The value of
education has only grown with globalization because it is now easier to outsource low-skilled
jobs. One may assume countries have become more focused on investments in education to
improve their competitiveness but the reality could not have been more different. There are
numerous factors that contribute towards slow progress in the global education sector such as
bureaucracy, funding cuts for public education, and lack of sense of urgency on the part of the
elected officials. In addition, there is hesitation towards changing the structure of the local
education systems because any change would involve uncertainty and the scale of the challenge
discourages most from even making an attempt. This is as much true for Saudi Arabia as it is for
countries with some of the finest academic institutions in the world like the U.S. My work
experience in the academic sector as well as knowledge gained from extensive reading on the
issue has convinced me that education sectors around the world are in dire need of education
leaders who are not afraid of thinking outside-the-box as well as the challenging the quo. This is
why I have decided to pursue my Masters in Educational Leadership because it will provide me
with knowledge and insights to bring about positive changes in Saudi education sector.

I realized early on in my career that Saudi Arabia invests quite a low figure in its education
system and I knew things won’t be changing soon. This motivated me to educate myself on
different education systems around the world to investigate how educators like me may be able
to revamp the local education system, even with limited resources. My extensive research as well
as conversations with fellow education professionals has yielded several useful insights which I
hope to share with my fellow students in the Educational Leadership Program as well as seek
their input. Probably, one of the most unexpected insights I have gained is that the importance of
resources available to educators is often exaggerated. What may be more important is the
organizational hierarchy of the academic institutions as well as the ability of different
stakeholders including teachers, parents, and public officials to work together to identify issues
and implement innovative and efficient solutions.

During my academic career, I have worked in a wide range of capacities including teacher,
administrator, accountant, and trainer. This has helped me gain a comprehensive knowledge of
how the whole education system works and I believe that education system in Saudi Arabia can
import lessons from not only education systems in other countries but even non-related sectors
such as Corporate America and non-profit sector. In fact, non-profit sector in developed
countries like the U.S. serve as a great example of importing ideas from other industries. More
and more non-profit organizations are being run like commercial organizations, with huge
emphasis on efficient management of financial and human capital as well as higher
accountability for performance. I believe public education system in Saudi Arabia and other
countries including the U.S. will also have to adopt business-like approach to their operations.
Similarly, I have learnt from multi-national organizations that every industry should keep an
open eye on the external factors and trends that are shaping our world. For the first time,
traditional education model is under attack because technology has changed the way students
now learn.

I will bring unique insights into the Educational Leadership program and am excited to learn
from my fellow students who may come from diverse cultural and professional backgrounds.
The knowledge and skills learnt in the program will help me further refine my educational
leadership philosophy and make positive contributions to the public education sector in Saudi
Arabia and elsewhere.
