Clinical Psychologist. Administer and interpret psychological test, and design group
therapy programs
Counseling role - aims to work specifically on the client's presenting problem or
behavior pattern creating difficulty.
Expressive Art Therapist. Uses music, art, movements and others that enable the
client to identify and work on resolving issues
Manager role. provide therapeutic environment (MILIEU THERAPY) for the clients’
recovery which includes unit structure, unit norms, limit setting, unit modification
Mothering role. This includes mothering activities such as bathing, feeding, dressing,
comforting client
Pharmacist. Responsible in dispensing medications ordered by the
physician/psychiatrist. Knowledgeable of chemical structures and actions of the drugs
Psychiatric Nurse. Responsible for the holistic care of the client: focusing on the
promotion of mental health, prevention of mental illness and rehabilitation.
Psychiatric Nursing Aide. Assist psychiatric nurse in providing physical, social and
psychological needs of the clients
Psychiatric Social Worker. Responsible in taking the client’s social and family history,
community support and referral of cases.
Psychiatrist. Responsible in the diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of clients.
Occupational Therapist. Assist patient’s ability to perform useful tasks that may
contribute to patients socializations and recovery
Recreational Therapist. Provides activities that promote constructive use of leisure or
unstructured time
Socializing agent - to help client learns to behave successfully in social situations and
utilizing ward group’s activities
Teacher role. This occurs as the nurse performs her nursing tasks such as setting
example, orienting client to ward policies, giving health teaching, etc.
Technician role. This includes skills in the performance of all nursing procedures such
as giving bed bath, serving foods, administering medications, etc.

A. Organizational structure of a mental health facility
1. Mental health team
1.1. Psychiatrist. Responsible in the diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of clients.
1.2. Clinical Psychologist. Administer and interpret psychological test, and design group
therapy programs
1.3. Pharmacist. Responsible in dispensing medications ordered by the
physician/psychiatrist. Knowledgeable of chemical structures and actions of the
drugs
1.4. Psychiatric Nurse. Responsible for the holistic care of the client: focusing on the
