Applications for the position of Law Clerk at the Supreme Court of

Pakistan

The Supreme Court of Pakistan invites applications for the posts of Law Clerks
in the Supreme Court of Pakistan. This appointment is on contract for one (1)
year and may be extended for a second year, subject to the approval of the Law
Clerkship Committee. The selected candidates will be required to perform their
duties at the principal seat in Islamabad, majorly, and at the registries across
Pakistan, occasionally. Each Law Clerk will be allocated to and work directly for
an Hon'ble Judge of the Supreme Court and will be expected to perform the
following duties, amongst others:

 Research, analyse and prepare briefs on a wide range of legal issues;


 Prepare bench memoranda cases being heard by the Hon'ble Judge;
 Prepare opinions as and when required;
 Assist with the day-to-day workload of the Chamber by carrying out all
necessary tasks and instruction;
 Travel to various Supreme Court of Pakistan's registries along with their
Hon'ble Judge;
 Review and proofread judgments and orders; and
 Carry out any other miscellaneous task as and when required.

Applicants must:
 Be a citizen of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan;
 Have completed the undergraduate degree in law (or any equivalent
degree);
 Apply for this clerkship program within a period of four (4) years of
completion of the undergraduate degree in law (or any equivalent degree);
 Be the age of 28 years or below at the time of applying; and
 Not be a direct relative of a sitting judge of the Superior Judiciary.

Remuneration
Law Clerks shall be paid a stipend of Rs.121,500/- per month.

Application Process
Applicants are required to download and fill out the Law Clerkship Application
Form available in the 'Law Clerkship Program' tab found at the bottom left on
the official website at www.supremecourt.gov.pk. All applications and necessary
documents must be emailed to scplawclerks@gmail.com (with cc:
admin.br@supremecourt.gov.pk) in the format and manner specified in the
Application Form.

Once applications are received and the deadline for submissions has passed, the
screening process will begin. Shortlisted candidates will be notified, and a list
will be uploaded to the Supreme Court's website.

Shortlisted candidates will be called for an interview with the Clerkship


Committee, consisting of two Hon'ble Judges of the Supreme Court.

Candidates who are selected in the Interview will be informed and a list will be
uploaded to the Supreme Court's website.

Deadline for Submission


All applicants must submit the application form, answers to any of the 4 (out of
8) essay questions; 1 personal statement; CV; and any other documentary
requirements specified within the application form through email on or before
15th May, 2025.

Incomplete applications shall be rejected. No application will be accepted after


the deadline under any circumstances.

Further Instructions
There is no provision of any official accommodation for Law Clerks and they have
to make their own arrangements for abode.
