EOY Writing Grade Reflection

The grade I deserve in Ms. Fimbres's class is an A- because this semester I put in all of

my effort to complete all the work assigned to me on time and I have not missed a single

assignment. For example, I have made sure to complete my work the most neatly as I can and I

checked for accuracy, making sure to follow all the instructions. There is plenty of evidence to

support this claim, some writing assignments include the RACER constructed responses, The

Outsiders digital journal, and who can forget the “Peer Influence writing process ". I have

consistently been graded A’s and B’s, specifically in the big writing assignments that were worth

the most points. Another reason I should get an A- in Ms. Fimbres Silas is from the formal and

summative assessments such as the argumentative vocabulary test, The Outsiders Test, the poetry

vocabulary test, and so on. I should add that have also gotten a lot of A’s and A- for most of the

assessments. Lastly, I have completed all the standard practice assignments (homework for the

week) like the Achieve3000 Articles, annotations: articles and poems, and worksheets.

Furthermore, whenever we are given a worksheet I make sure to pay close attention to what we

are supposed to annotate. I used to get distracted but I have develop a system so when I look

back to see what we have annotated I know how to use my notes. I always keep my notebook

neat and glue the pages that are needed to be glued in so they don’t take extra space in my

folders. For all these reasons, I feel I earned an A in Ms. Fimbres's class.

Next, I think the citizenship grade that I should deserve is an A (my current citizenship

grade) because I have never been tardy to class and I have not missed a single day of school,

except for one day when I was sick. For example, when I was absent for the first time in 7th

grade I knew that I was going to miss a lot of homework because based on what I have seen,

missing one day of homework can almost fill up your whole schedule which means you will

have to change your plan for the day. Another reason why I think I should get an A in citizenship

is because I have been respectful and have followed the rules, even when talking to peers, I am

responsible about what I say in class. Some supporting examples include, I have not used my

school iPad for videos, or games, to be used as a mirror, or to store personal photos. I have also

been responsible whenever we get the chance to be with friends and get to socialize and work but

sometimes I tend to get distracted and I'm not able to do my homework which leads to more time

being used on work and less free time for me to have later on. Therefore, over the past 2

semesters, I have been able to master my concentration and now I can have fun and socialize

with my friends while doing the work that is assigned to us. Lastly, my participation in this class

in my opinion has been good over the past 2 semesters. In addition, I have been going to school

with a fully charged iPad and making sure to bring an iPad to school every day, including a

charger, participating in some of the class discussions, not talking when doing classwork, never

using the phone in class, not plagiarizing on any assignments or tests, spending time wisely and

productively during class, completing all work during class, completing Achieve articles on time,

doing only English work and not other classes work, and turning in ALL homework on time

done and correctly. Based on this evidence, proves that I deserve an A in citizenship.

Finally, I would like to take the opportunity to give some helpful advice to you incoming

7th Graders on how to succeed in Ms. Fimbres’s English class. First, you should know that you

will be challenged and it will not be easy. However, if you follow the following steps you will

survive. Step 1: Always make sure to pay attention to whatever Ms. Fimbres says, especially if

she is giving you tips for writing such as for formal writing, how to do MLA format,

argumentative writing, informative/explanatory writing, and more (Trust me you're gonna need

it). Step 2: Whenever you're doing an assignment, test, or classwork such as your notebook,

writing assignments, study guides, assessments, you want to make sure that you not just

completed it but you did it correctly and how she wants it’s to be done because Ms. Fimbres will

ding you on any slight mistake she sees like a misspelled word so you want to be careful on how

you do your work especially when writing because writing is worth a lot of your grade and

getting even a C on one writing assignment can bring your grade down by A LOT so be careful.

Step 3: Have fun and try to enjoy learning. Now, I know that you 7th Graders are going to be

stressed during some moments in Ms. Fimbres English Class due to all the writing assignments

but I promise you that you will also learn a lot. So just make sure before you even think about

the test your going to have today, just breathe in and relax for just a couple of minutes until you

feel ready to A+. Think of how you're gonna make your parents proud even though they are

proud of you but most importantly you will be proud of yourself. Hope you guys enjoy

Elementary School because it’s gonna get a lot “easier” (Hehehehehehehe :D).
