Student Online Registration Procedure/Manual (Step-by-Step Pictorial Manual for
Students)

Please note program and course registration are mandatory as a student and you are
expected to register online every trimester/semester within the provided or given window
or time for registration.

1. Visit the University Management Information System student portal at


http://umis.ubids.edu.gh/login.php (clickable link). Alternatively, you can access the portal
by visiting the University website (https://ubids.edu.gh/), under the students' tab, go to the
student’s portal to access the registration portal.

2. Input your student ID eg PG0000023 or UG0000023 and the default password sdd12345
if this is your first-time logging into the system.

3. As said in 2, If this is your first-time logging into the portal with the default password,
you will be required and prompted to change to your preferred password, input the default
password sdd12345 at the current password and input your preferred password and the
confirmation and click on the change blue button

4. You will be redirected to your student profile or dashboard where basic information
about your studentship will be displayed. Alternatively, you can access same profile from the
dropdown icon of your account. You can also proceed to upload profile picture from the
profile/dashboard

5. Go to the registration dropdown at the left sidebar, then click on register.
The registration page will load without the need to select the academic period or window,
automatically all your courses for that trimester/semester will be listed here, trailed, core,
and elective as well as your outstanding fee amount for the period.

You will be required to register for the trail courses first, followed by core courses, and lastly
the elective courses. Trailed and core courses are mandatory and you can register for the
elective course by selecting the check box by course code.

Note: your registration and number of courses is also depend on the total credit hours
allocated for your program per every trimester/semester/session. You cannot register for
courses below the minimum credit and not more than the maximum number of credits for
that trimester/semester/session.

If you have paid your fees and met your fee payment threshold, the registration button
(orange register button) will show for you to register for the selected courses

You will be required to confirm this to finalise the registration.

6. If you have successfully registered, the registered page will change to reflect this and you
can download your proof of registration using the blue “Download” link. This will open up a
pdf of your proof of registration.

7. Alternatively to fetch your proof of registration or see registration details of your previous
period, you can go to View Registration under the registration tab at the left sidebar.

You will be required to select the academic year and trimester/semester/session

If you have already registered for that trimester/semester/session, a list of your courses will
show along with a table of details of your registration. You can then download the proof of
registration using the download button.

Make sure you save your proof of registration very well for onward printing.

8. Go to your profile at the top right corner, a dropdown will be listed, among the items
will be logout, click on that to successfully logout.

9. Print two copies of the downloaded Proof of registration and submit them to your
department for verification.

10. If you have issues concerning your registration, please send an email to the Directorate of
Information Management Services (DIMS) support services mails: missupport@ubids.edu.gh
or itsupport@ubids.edu.gh and we will resolve them within 72 hours
