Assembling the steer wheels
- Load the steer wheel (9) onto the ancillary truck and fasten it onto
the support.
- Clean the surfaces of the machine.
- Carefully drive the ancillary truck into position and place the
steer wheel (9) against the hub.
- Use the forks of the ancillary truck to support the weight of the
steer wheel.
- Fix and tighten two of the nuts (8) diagonal to each other.
- Remove the fork support.
- Assemble and tighten up the remaining nuts (8) using a
400 Nm torque.
- Carefully reverse the ancillary truck.
- Pump the tyres up to 9 bar.
Tightening torque
Information on friction ratio is needed in order to select the
exact tightening torque. The tables below specify the torque
for ”lightly greased” bolts.
WARNING
It is important that the torque of the bolted joints
is checked regularly. It is especially important in
connection with the ”first servicing”.
It is particulary important to check all bolts after the first
50 hours of operation.
The following pages describe how bolted joints should be
tightened using a torque key.

WARNING
2 The brake is a pure parking brake and
should be used as such - to keep the
machine stationary.
7
Due to the gear ratio through the drive axle, the brake is
verypowerful, however if the brake is used to stop the
machine it will wear the pads rapidly .
Use the parking brake to stop the machine with only in
emergency. After such a braking the brake should be
8 checked, adjusted and if necessary pads replaced.
As being an emergency brake, the function of it has to be
6 3
checked daily by the operator. To ensure the function and
to make the following adjusting procedures to go easy ,
it’s necessary to keep the calliper well lubricated and all
5 4 parts in good condition. In case of any doubts,
dismantle, clean and lubricate.
NOTE.
Block the wheels to prevent the vehicle from moving.
CAUTION
Make sure that the parking brake pressure
is correct. See below.
