What is an antecedent and consequent phrase?

In forms of Music, there are two phrases.
The first phrase is called antecedent. It is a
complete phrase but ends on a pitch which
is unstable, there is tension, it needs a
continuation.

So we need a Consequent phrase which

completes the antecedent phrase that ends
the songs with stability, it is relaxed and
answers the thought of the song. In order
to end the consequent phrase with stability,
it has to end on a tonic.

Synthesis
Melody is the most important part of any song. Because it is the
basis of other elements, the foundation and the structure. Why?
Because before we learn to love the lyrics, we first learn the
tune. There is melody when we laugh,
when we knock, whistle, etc…
So when we sing, words became so easy to remember because
we hear a melodious tune.

Composing a melody may seem so hard but you may start by

listening to good melodies that will give the inspiration to start
writing. If you cannot play, you may hum the tune and sing it
with your words.

Because each melody composed comes the heart.

DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION
Music

One of the most important element of music that

needs much attention to like rhythm, melody,
dynamics, tempo is the form of music

It is the organizing structure of a piece of music.

With form, we can make a good musical

composition.

Harmony and texture always go

together because Harmony blend tones
while texture refers to the thickness

refers also to the relationship of
