Direct Speech
Direct speech is mainly used to write dialogue or quoted
speech. Read how to punctuate direct speech below.

B. Indirect or Reported Speech
Reported speech is commonly used in speaking and
writing. It is important to note that most verb tenses
will change from direct to reported speech. The chart
on the next page shows the most common verb and
modal changes.
