Job Purpose :

This position has an entry-level role having previous working experience of at least a year in similar role and/or
professional qualification. Through this role s/he is expected to perform specific tasks which will contribute to but not
limited to specific activities/ projects managed by Programme team. S/he will support tasks and activities across the
team and shall work under direct supervision of a senior team member. Also, responsible to replicate activities with
high degree of consistency, communicate across the team, support activities under programme/ project cycle
(capacity review, gap identification, assessment, analysis, design, planning, implementation, monitoring & evaluation
and reporting). Moreover, this position will be given opportunity to learn and contribute to the potential engagement in
diversified programmes through designing, planning, and piloting/implementing ideas/projects. This position will be
given an adventurous challenge to increase digital footprint along with undertaking various communication and
advocacy activities, while learning-by-doing through training during the work.

Key Responsibilities :

• Review and design WASH infrastructure following set of guidelines and standards.
• Visit and guide partners staff in implementing WASH infrastructures in the fields following approved design and
specifications
• Support projects in planning, budgeting, development, and implementation, aligning activities with WaterAid’s mission,
vision, values, and principles.
• Take an active role in achieving project objectives and strengthening monitoring processes for assigned projects
• Actively assist in successful completion of project related activities assigned by line manager aligning to
organisational priority
• Support team and partners to design and development of comprehensive technical training modules, guidelines, and
communication materials tailored for target communities, ensuring their effective dissemination
• Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to analzse the data and generate regular reports for management, facilitating
informed decision-making and strategic planning
• Play active role in formulating strategies and proposing innovative solutions to enhance the quality of services at
project locations, making interventions inclusive and gender-friendly
• Provide necessary support to ensure develop, practice, and rolling out of relevant organisational and national policies
in different programmes/projects
• Actively support in organising different events and disseminate event reports in different level as required
• Conduct regular visits to project locations, liaising with the team to provide necessary support to partner

• Support in knowledge-sharing activities by capturing, documenting, and disseminating project learning, best practices,
and success stories.
• Support in documentation, reporting, and presentation of project-related information, ensuring accuracy and
timeliness in appropriate manner.
• Willingness to work for and on behalf of the organization as per requirement.

Requisite qualifications, experience, and attributes :

Education: An Undergraduate/Master degree in Civil/Water Resources Engineering/Environmental Science from any


recognised and reputed University of Bangladesh or abroad.

Experience: At least one-year professional working experience in water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH), environmental
science and/or relevant fields
Skills and Competencies:
• Experience of designing and implementing WASH infrastructures for Coastal (South-West) region will be considered
as an added advantage
• Understanding of standards and guidelines on WASH structures in national and global context is essential
• Excellent computer skill on Microsoft office, Auto CAD, internet of things etc.
• Strong analytical skills, and capacity to work independently and meet tight deadlines
• Admirable leadership, interpersonal, facilitation, and presentation skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills both in Bangla and English

Salary Benefits :

Monthly gross salary BDT 43,583/-. In addition, festival bonus, provident fund, gratuity, life insurance for self, health
insurance for self, spouse and children, cell phone allowances etc. are applicable as per policy provision.

Travel :

Travel on a regular basis to remote areas of Bangladesh and overseas is required. 30% to 50% time should be
dedicated to travels.
