MM Week 3 Assignment

The perceived value of certification to CMSRN Certificants involves intrinsic and

extrinsic value statements. Most CMSRN Certificates attest to attaining personal satisfaction,

a sense of personal accomplishment, and evidence of professional commitment as having

their highest affirmations in seeking certification (Boyle et al., 2020). On the other hand,

enhancing autonomy was the lowest-ranking intrinsic value, implying most nurses do not like

participating in decision-making processes in healthcare units. Most CMSRN Certificants are

motivated to work because they will be recognized by colleagues and employers, making

them marketable professionals. In contrast, most Certificants are not inspired by an increase

in salary.

The authors’ review of literature provides a detailed synthesis of the research

literature and a hypothesis for the proposed study. The study’s problem was identifying

strategies and requirements to demonstrate continued competence among certified nurses

(Boyle et al., 2020). The author’s review allowed for the placement of each topic and its

contribution toward understanding the research problem. In addition, the author identifies

what is known about nurses and certification and the extent of information establishment. The

review also identifies where possible future research may be carried out. I like extensive

research, correct use of keywords, and in-depth exploration of topics incorporated in the

study.

An essential strategy for creating a vital literature review is demonstrating proper

synthesis and understanding of the topic under study (Boyle et al., 2020). In addition, there

should be strong, analytically thought evidence to support the hypothesis and create a

connection between the materials being reviewed. First, a thorough review of the literature

provides context for the topics under study while avoiding identical research to give credit to

other researchers. Second is providing invaluable knowledge on the subject under discussion,

which might benefit readers. The third is identifying discrepancies and gaps in research and,

finally, recognizing the role of additional research on the topic.
