Parallelism is a figure of speech in which two or more elements of a sentence

(or series of sentences) have the same grammatical structure. Parallel


structure, or parallelism, means using the same pattern of words to show
that two or more words or ideas are of equal importance. Words and phrases
within a sentence should not only match in structure, but also in tense.
Writers use parallel structure to add clarity to their writing, make it easier to
understand and show that their writing is structurally and grammatically
correct.

- To improve the clarity of your writing, it is important to remember the


equality of your sentence structure.

- Parallel Structure means using the same construction for sentence


elements that are the same in function.
