simultaneously?

2. A lossless line with r = 2.28 is measured with a slotted line at 1.5 GHz to have
a Vmax = 15mV and Vmin = 3mV. The first voltage minimum is 1.8 inches from
the load. Determine:
a. the operating wavelength
b. VSWR
c. reflection coefficient magnitude
d. the distance in wavelength between the load and the first voltage node
e. the distance in mm between the voltage node and antinode.

3. Find the required load value that would terminate a 200 line if the SWR is 2.

4. Determine the separation between two towers operating at a frequency of 5kHz

with a phase separation of 80o. The velocity of propagation of the signal is 1.85
x108 m/sec.

5. Determine the characteristic impedance of an open wire line with an S/r ratio of
8.8.

6. A coaxial line has an inner conductor diameter of 0.05mm and an outer

conductor diameter of 0.05cm. What will be the characteristic impedance of the
line if it uses a rubber dielectric.

7. Find the characteristic impedance of a coaxial cable using a polyethylene

dielectric with an inner conductor of 2mm in diameter and an outer conductor
of 8mm in diameter.

8. A TDR display shows a discontinuity 1.4µs from the start. If the line has a
velocity factor of 0.8 how far is the fault from the reflectometer?

9. What is the length in centimeters of a quarter-wave stub, in free space at

8GHz?
