ITBA STEP BY STEP INSTRUCTIONS

As per the announcement made in Budget Speech by Honorable Finance Minister, Income-tax department
would provide a seamless facility for online application of Rectification applications to the Jurisdictional
Assessing Officers. Taxpayers will file online application for rectification against order passed by ITD users.
All such applications will be inwarded in ITBA – ASK/DAK Pendency and will be shown to JAO or concerned
authority. These applications can be transferred by JAO, if action is required to be taken by other ITD user
based on such application received from e-filing.
ITBA will receive request from efiling. System will check on the basis of PAN, AY and DIN that which
authority has passed order earlier in ITBA and accordingly the pendency will be created for that user in
DAK Pendency List.
Steps to work on e-filed application are as follows:
User- AO

Navigation: ITBA Portal login Modules DAK  Menu Pendency List

 User will select DAK Type as Efiling and will search the record. All the record(s) received in this
category for the respective user will be displayed. User can also use other search filter such as
Ack No., Category, Sub-Category etc.
 To view details navigate to the Ack No. of the case. It will navigate user to DAK Details screen
where user will be able to view DAK related details.

 To edit the details click on Edit .It will make the fields such as Category, Sub-Category editable
for user to change.
 Click on Save/ReAssign to save the details edited. Confirmation message will be displayed.
Click on Yes to proceed.

 Success message will be displayed.


 To view the attachments attached by taxpayer during application navigate to Attachment button.
The attachment inwarded from efiling will be visible in screen with Uploaded By(Emp Id) as EFL.
User will be able to attach additional documents (if required).

 Click on Initiate Action to proceed with the rectification request. Success message will be
displayed as “Pendency has been created in Rectification module”. The pendency will be created
in Rectification Control Register for the user.
 Navigate to Rectification  Menu  Rectification Control Register

 User will be able to search the record using various filter such as PAN/TAN , AY, Ask
Acknowledgment No./E-filing No. etc.
 The respective record will be displayed in List of Entries grid with Status as “Pending for
Initiation”.
 User will be able to view/download the application form filed at efiling from Form Link – View
Form link.
 To proceed with the case user will click on Enter/Update link under Details column.

 Details of the case will be auto-populated such as Rectification Type as Assessee Application,
Rectification Section as 154 of IT Act, Assessee Details, AY of the order to be rectified.
 User will select the Order Type and Order u/s and click on Search Order to search and select
order available in system.
 The reasons entered by taxpayer during application filing will be visible to user in Remarks area.
User will be able to edit the remarks.
 To view the attachments attached by taxpayer during application navigate to Attachment button.
The attachment inwarded from efiling will be visible in screen with Uploaded By(Emp Id) as EFL.
User will be able to attach additional documents (if required).

 Click on Save. Click on Initiate Proceedings to initiate rectification proceeding. Success


message will be displayed and Rectification Proceeding will be created in the Worklist for
necessary action and order passing.
