ASSEMBLY SCRIPT

The school of Athens

Synopsis

It is 400 BC. Plato is a Wise teacher in Athens. But his students are Mephistophelian and wicked.
None of them show respect or consideration. But Plato possesses unwavering love for his
students. He never thinks ill of them and believes with all his heart that there is good within
them. Plato made the decision that as long as he is alive, he will not give up teaching his
students. Plato’s most loved and obedient student Aristotle advised him many times to give up
teaching to his students as Plato harms himself by teaching these students. Aristotle comments
on the ignorance and the diabolical behavior the students show towards Plato incessantly.
Aristotle advises Plato to Give up teaching his students as they are ignorant. Plato keeps refusing
his offer by stating that because they are ignorant, they need teaching and education the most and
that a teachers love for his students is unwavering. Plato tells the story of Socrates of how he
used to teach his students. He used to wander on the streets of Athens to expose dogmatic
political prejudice and superstitions yet it seemed all his efforts were futile until Plato
encountered him. Socrates never understood his efforts as futile if he only had even one students
Socrates had made some even more students such as Euclid, Antisthenes, Aeschines. As he was
educating the youth against dogma the government sentenced him to death. Plato recalls how he
approached Socrates with all his friends to free him from jail and save him from the death
penalty. Socrates refused the offer saying that if he absconds his students will doubt his teachings
and eventually be misguided from the path of truth. Socrates the next day was presented to the
jury. The judge presents Socrates with a Goblet of hemlock poison. The judge gave Socrates an
ultimatum stating that if he gave up teaching the jury will spare his life. Socrates gave a gallant
and brave answer that “I will die on my terms than to live on your terms” Implying that he would
rather die than to give up on his students and let them be misguided. He boldly reached to the
goblet of poison and drank it. He took 9 steps from the threshold of the jury and breathed his last.
Plato says to Aristotle A teacher always considers and loves his students even if his students
don’t believe the same. Suddenly The door of the school bust open and there was Theaetetus
saying that he would be grateful if Plato taught him Geometry. Plato stood up ran to Theaetetus
and embraced him and replied to Theaetetus that he would be grateful to teach him geometry.
