Applications in Standard Format along with supporting documents are invited from the intending candidates who
are native citizen of Assam and fulfill the eligibility norms of educational qualification, age, work experience etc as
mentioned below for the post of Teachers (Hindi, Maths, English, Science, Social Studies) in different schools under
GUwahati Municipal Corporation on contractual basis. The appointment shall be made purely on contractual basis for a
period of 1Imonths. Candidates who fulfill the criteria need to appear for Written Test and Viva Voce.

Terms and conditions:
1. The engagement will be on contractual basis for a period of l1 months only. Based on performance
and requirement of GMC, contract may further be extended.
2. Candidates shall bring original documents/ certificates at the interview for verification, failing which
they shallnot be allowed to appear. Candidates are required to bring PAN cardor any Valid ID and/
or address proofat the interview.
3. Submission of application does not imply that a candidate has fulfilled all the criteria given in the
advertisement. The admission of candidates at all stages of the selection process will be purely
provisional and subject to satisfying the prescribed eligibility conditions. The application will be
subject to scrutiny at every stage and shall be rejected if any defect/ ineligibility condition is
detected.
4. The date and syllabus of written test and viva voce willbe notified in due course of time which will
be published in the GMC official website. The Applicants are therefore requested to visit GMC
website (gmc.assam.gov. in) regularly for any updates till the process of engagement is over.
5. The posts are purely contractual in nature. No candidate, if selected can claim for permanent
absorption in GMC ater on.
6. Applications in closed envelope have to be submitted in the drop box at the O/o Guwahati Municipal
Corporation, Personnel Branch, 2d Floor, Uzanbazar, Guwahati-781001.
7. Applications without contact number, photograph, signature of the candidate or received after last
date and time or received through any other mode or incomplete in any respect will be summarily
rejected.
8. GMC at its own discretion may make any changes in the number of posts, eligibility criteria or any
terms and conditions. Any addendum/ corrigendum of this advertisement will be uploaded in the
GMC website.
9. The Commissioner, GMC reserves the right to cancel the advertisement, alter any terms and
conditions of the advertisement at any stage.
10. No TA/DAshall be paid to candidates for appearing in the interview etc.
11. The Commissioner, GMC reserves the right to accept or reject any candidature without assigning
any reason thereof. Decision of the Commissioner, GMC will be final and binding in this regards.

13. Canvassing in any form bringing in any influence; political or otherwise will be treated as a
disqualification for the posts "INTERIM ENQUIRY WILL NOT BE ENTERTAINED".
