ABORTION SCRIPT (AGREE, DISAGREE)

Trisha (Agree): Abortion has always been a controversial topic. Some

people believe it is wrong because it ends a potential life, while others
think that women should have the right to make decisions about their
bodies. We believe abortion should be legal and accessible because it is a
decision that can be influence by many factors, such as health risk,
financial instability or personal circumstances.
Irish (Disagree): We stand against abortion, why? because it is one of
the most controversial issues in the world, this argument centered the
humanity, morality, legality, and personal rights. Life begins at
conception, and every unborn child has the right to live. Today, we will
discuss why abortion is not just a medical procedure or a political issue. As
of now abortion is not legal in Philippines.

Janelle (Agree): Do you have any evidence to prove your statement that
abortion is not okay to every human or a woman?
Zeg (Disagree): Yes, we have based on our research it indicates that
women may experience various psychological effects after an abortion,
including feelings of sadness, guilt, and regret.

Angel (Agree): But unwanted pregnancies can push women into poverty,
disrupt education, and limit career opportunities. Providing access to
abortion supports women in making choices that benefit their futures

Jonh rey (Disagree): Even if it is unwanted pregnancies, abortion is not

the choice because abortion is a murder or a sin for every people,
abortion is not the solution of the unwanted pregnancies if you choose to
abort you must think about the future of the innocent child, taking an
innocent life through abortion is against God’s will.

Justin mae (Agree): Forcing a woman to carry a pregnancy can cause

women’s future.

John drave (Disagree): But first you need to think about the innocent
child whose life is not his /her fault.

Trisha (Agree): Every woman has the right to make choices about their
own body, and that right should be respected, what about cases of rape,
incest, or when the mother’s life is at risk?

Irish (Disagree): Cases of rape and incest are tragic; the child should not
be punished for the actions of another. There are alternatives, such as
adoption, that allow the child to live.

Janelle (Agree): Experts say it’s a lot more complicated than it sounds.
Malinda Seymore said “adoption doesn’t do what abortion does. It does
not end a pregnancy, it does not relieve the burden of pregnancy, it does
ABORTION SCRIPT (AGREE, DISAGREE)
not avoid the health risks of pregnancy, it does not alleviate the psycho-
social harm of yield for adoption. It is not at all a substitute for abortion”.

Angel (Agree): In addition, on what she said, pregnant people can

experience a range of health conditions that can create complications, but
even without the health risks, a pregnancy can make it difficult to keep a
job or provide for already existing children in the family. Being forced to
carry a pregnancy to term, even with the option of adoption, does not
address those issues.

Irish (Disagree): There are better alternatives than abortion. Churches,

charities, and pro-life organizations offer support to struggling mothers.
Adoption provides a loving home for children whose birth mothers cannot
raise them, we should offer better support for women, such as counseling,
financial aid, and adoption services.

Zeg (Disagree): In addition, a study published in The British Journal of

Psychiatry found that women who had undergone an abortion experienced
an 81% increased risk of mental health problems, with nearly 10% of
these issues directly attributable to abortion.

Justin mae (Agree): When abortion is legal and accessible, it is safer. In

contrast, banning abortion only leads to unsafe, illegal procedures that put
women’s lives at risk.

John drave (Disagree): The government should not control personal

decisions: While we value personal freedom, not all choices are morally
right. If we believe the government should protect human life, then it
must also defend the unborn. The law prohibits murder, theft, and other
acts that harm others—abortion should be no different.

John rey (Disagree): And the role of society is to protect all lives,
especially the most vulnerable—the unborn. No life is more valuable than
another. Allowing abortion suggests that some lives are disposable — a
dangerous mindset that devalues humanity. A society that respects life
from the womb is a society that respects all human life.

Trisha (Agree): Women should have full autonomy over their bodies. No
one should be forced to carry a pregnancy against their will, especially in
cases of rape, incest, or when the mother’s health is at risk. Abortion is a
necessary option for those who cannot continue their pregnancy.

Irish (Disagree): But what about the unborn child? Every life has value,
and abortion takes away that chance at life. If we care about protecting
rights, we must also protect the rights of the unborn.

Janelle (Agree): Exactly, banning abortion doesn’t stop it—it only makes
it unsafe. Thousands of women resort to illegal and dangerous methods
ABORTION SCRIPT (AGREE, DISAGREE)
when they have no other choice. Ensuring access to legal and safe
abortion services is about protecting women’s health.

Zeg (Disagree): There are always alternatives. Adoption is an option for

women who do not want to raise a child. Instead of ending a life, why not
give the baby a chance to live and be loved by another family?

Angel (Agree): But many women who seek abortions do so because they
are financially unstable or not ready for motherhood. Forcing them to give
birth can push them deeper into poverty and affect their mental well-
being.

Justin mae (Agree): And let’s not forget the economic and social impact,
that Abortion is not an easy decision, but it should be available. Every
woman’s situation is different, and she should have the right to decide
what is best for her life and future.

John drave (Disagree): Legalizing abortion sends a dangerous message

—that life is disposable. If we justify ending a pregnancy for convenience
or hardship, where do we draw the line? Every human life, even in the
womb, deserves protection.

Trisha (Agree): Exactly abortion is a choice for every woman doesn’t

stop it—it only makes it unsafe. Thousands of women resort to illegal and
dangerous methods when they have no other choice. Ensuring access to
legal and safe abortion services is about protecting women’s health.

Irish (Disagree): Exactly, if we say abortion is a “choice,” we devalue

human life. No one has the right to decide that an unborn child should die.
Life is not disposable.

Justin mae (Agree): The choice to have an abortion is deeply personal.

Women should not be forced into carrying a pregnancy if they are not
ready. We should respect their right to decide what is best for their future.

John drave (Disagree): That’s why we don’t like killing an innocent life,
so why we should be kill an innocent child? The government’s role is to
protect all human life, including the unborn. Legalizing abortion is a step
toward disregarding human dignity.

Irish (Disagree): But you know what even if I’m the only girl who
disagreed about the abortion because I valued every singles life, most
probably a child why would I kill an innocent child, let’s give him a life but
if you think about your future set aside first, you must think the future of
that innocent child, you are lucky to have that child because there are
many women who strive to getting a child after you gave birth you may
continue your dream that nothing is bothering your mind that you have
killed a person's life.
ABORTION SCRIPT (AGREE, DISAGREE)
Trisha (Agree): But first in our mind is that the future of the women can
possibly cause her mental health because of that unwanted pregnancy or
that child.

Irish (Disagree): Alright, this topic is getting deeper, let’s just wait for
what the government has to say about that, or you might end up fighting
here huh because of that topic.

Janelle (Agree): In conclusion, abortion should remain legal and

accessible. Every woman has the right to decide what is best for her body,
her health, and her future. While opposing views exist, laws should
prioritize personal choice and public health. By ensuring access to safe
abortion, we uphold women’s right and promote equality in society.

Zeg (Disagree): We also conclude that, every life is important, including

the life of an unborn child. While some situations are difficult, there are
better options than abortion, like adoption and support for mothers who
are struggling. Life is a gift, and we should protect it. By helping both
mothers and babies, we create a caring and respectful society where
everyone is valued.
