VPN Installation and Log-In for SRT Access
Appen and SRT are partnering on streamlining your experience for logging into SRT. The new process
will require use of a VPN, Twingate.
IMPORTANT NOTE: You will only need to install VPN one time. You may receive multiple
notifications if you work in different verticals.
Please follow the steps outlined below before accessing SRT.
1. Download and Install Twingate – You will need VPN access through Twingate.
a. Install Twingate VPN:
i. Download and install is only needed once. However, each time you log into
SRT, you will need to be connected to the VPN.
ii. Install Steps:
Click on the following link: https://appen.twingate.com/
iii. Click “Sign in with Keycloak”
iv. Enter your Appen Connect credentials (the email address and PW you use to
log into Appen connect) and click “continue”:
v. Click “Download Twingate“
vi. Run “TwingateWindowsInstaller“ from your Downloads folder
*Microsoft may prompt a warning because this is not one if the official
apps from the store; ignore the warning and proceed.
1. If the initial install fails, and you get a similar message to below, click finish
and re-launch.
b. Launch Twingate by going to your system tray and looking for the two folders or by
searching for it in the computer’s search bar:
c. Type in “Appen” for the network name. You should see the following as the network
name: “Appen.Twingate.com” and Click “Join Network”
d. Sign into Twingate VPN with your Appen Connect log in credentials.
e. Network name:
i. Appen
(appen.twingate.com)
ii. Note: Window may indicate to look at your email for the Network name, but
no email will be sent. Please use the network name provided when
connecting to Twingate (appen.twingate.com).
2. Now it is time to launch SRT. SRT will be located in your hidden icons tray on your taskbar.
a. You must be logged into the VPN indicated by the two-folder appearing “white”.
b. Navigate to your hidden icons location on your taskbar.
c. Locate the twingate icon (two folders)
d. Left click on the icon (Icon should appear “White” which indicates you are logged into
the twingate VPN.
e. Select SRT ->open in browser.

• Joining a Twingate network fails with "Unable to join network"
o Ensure no other VPN is installed. If the other VPN is still installed, uninstall it as cleanly as
possible.
o Reboot the computer.
• Cannot download/install Twingate VPN
o Ensure your device supports Windows 10 and above, MacOS, Linux, iOS, Android, and
ChromeOS.
• Directing to Workplace not to the SRT task
o Please directly access SRT using this link https://review.intern.facebook.com/intern/review/ to
access the tasks. Ensure you are logged in to Twingate.
• Cannot see Twingate app
o Access Twingate app by clicking this link: https://appen.twingate.com/ using Appen Connect
credentials (the email address and password you use to log into Appen Connect) and click
“continue”:
• Cannot see SRT in your hidden icons tray
o Navigate to this link directly https://review.intern.facebook.com/intern/review/
