Objective:
The objective of this assignment is to evaluate the student’s ability to assess customer
information needs, define site purpose and functionality, create appropriate content channels,
select relevant templates and style guides, and propose design alterations effectively.
Instructions:
1. Customer Information Needs Identification (8 Marks)
o Create a profile for a hypothetical client.
o Identify at least five information requirements based on the client’s goals (e.g.,
product details, contact information, FAQs).
o Explain why these requirements are crucial for the site’s success.
2. Site Purpose & Functionality Definition (10 Marks)
o Define the purpose of the site (e.g., e-commerce, educational, informational).
o List at least four key functionalities the site should have (e.g., search bar,
shopping cart, login system, interactive forms).
o Discuss the importance of each functionality in meeting the client’s objectives.
3. Content Channels and Formats (8 Marks)
o Propose three content channels (e.g., blog, social media, email newsletter) and
justify their relevance to the target audience.
o Identify the formats for each content channel (e.g., articles, videos, graphics).
o Discuss how each format aligns with the client’s brand voice and audience needs.
4. Template & Style Guide Selection (8 Marks)
o Choose a template and style guide for the website.
o Justify your selection based on the client’s business type, target audience, and
brand identity.
o Include design elements like colors, fonts, and layout considerations.
5. Relevant Site Content Identification & Design Alterations (6 Marks)
o Identify the key types of content that should be included on the site (e.g., blog
posts, product pages, testimonials).
o Propose any necessary site design alterations or improvements to better suit the
client’s objectives and audience.
o Discuss how you would negotiate these changes with the client.
Submission Requirements:
The assignment should be 1,500–2,000 words.
