Translation o Translation of passages from English to Tamil and from Tamil to English.

Law II o Framing of Issues

o Writing of Judgments in Civil Cases.

TNPSC Civil Judge Prelims Exam Pattern

o All questions will be multiple choice based.

o Each question carries one mark.

o For a wrong answer, 0.25 marks will be deducted.

o The question paper will be set in Tamil and English language

o The Prelims exam is just a shortlisting round required to qualify for the main exam. The
marks obtained in the TNPSC Civil Judge Prelims Exams won’t be considered for the merit
list.

Preliminary Exam 100 3 hours

TNPSC Civil Judge Main Exam Pattern

o All questions require a descriptive type of questions.

o The exam is divided into four papers.

o One needs to qualify for each paper to be considered to pass in the exam.

o One will get 3 hours to attempt each paper.

o Except the Translation paper all other papers shall be answered by the candidates either in
English or Tamil.

Translation Paper 100 3 hours

Law I 100 3 hours

Law II 100 3 hours

Law III 100 3 hours
