Bay - the part of water touching land

Canal – this is man – made waterway like a long, narrow path of water. It is made for
boats or for
Cape - is a piece of land that is a little bit in the sea or ocean
Cliff - a high, steep wall , made of stones or sands
Coastline - is where the land touches the sea or ocean. It's the edge between land and
water.
Dense forest - is a forest where the trees grow very close to each other.
Dunes - they are hills made of sand in Łeba
Estuary - is an area where a river meets the sea. It’s a mix of fresh water from the
river and salt water from the ocean.
Flood plain - is a flat area of land next to a river or stream that can be flooded with
water during floods
Gorge - is a narrow and deep valley with steep sides
Grassland - an area of land where a lot of grass grows
Gulf - part of the sea or ocean close to land. It is big and deep
Island - a piece of land surrounded by water
Man-made lake - is a lake that is created by people, not by nature.
Meadow - an area where there are many plants, grasses and flowers
Mountain range - a group of mountains that are connected together. They are usually
long and can be very tall.
Open fields - are wide, flat areas with grass. there are no buildings or trees there
Peak - the highest part of the mountain
Peninsula - piece of land that is mostly surrounded by water but still connected to the
mainland.
Pond - a small body of water, usually smaller than a lake.
Rainforest - these are green forests where it rains a lot
River - is a big stream of water that flows on land
Riverside - land next to the river
Waterfall - a stream of water that falls down
Weatland - area that is wet
Woodland - an area with a lot of trees
Avalanche – when the snows falling down and it is so dangerous
Drought - no rainfall, high temperature, dry land
Earthquake – when the ground shakes
Famine - many people are hungry, there is no food
Flood - this can happen when it rains too much, rivers overflow, or when snow melts
quickly.
Hurricane - heavy rainfall and strong wind

Overflow - when there is too much water and spill out
