1. The Indian Constitution was drafted by the Constituent Assembly, which was established in
1946. The Assembly had 299 members who represented the different regions and communities
of India. The Drafting Committee was chaired by Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, who played a pivotal role
in shaping the document. The Constitution was adopted on 26th November 1949 and came into
effect on 26th January 1950, making India a sovereign, democratic republic. The Constitution
reflects the aspirations of the people and aims to establish a society based on justice, liberty,
equality, and fraternity.
