THE WOMEN OF LIVELY HOPE
TEXT: 1 Peter 1: 2 – 5
Elect according to the foreknowledge of God
the Father, through sanctification of the
Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling of the
blood of Jesus Christ: Grace unto you, and
peace, be multiplied.
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord
Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant
mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively
hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from
the dead,
To an inheritance incorruptible, and
undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved
in heaven for you,
Who are kept by the power of God through
faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in
the last time.
INTRODUCTION:
Faith is the mum of hope that brings expectation
to reality.
Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is the substance of
things hoped for, the evidence of things not
seen.
As daughters of Zion, which means that we are
born again. We have great hope, and priceless
inheritance
Kept in heaven for us which is pure, undefiled,
beyond the reach of change and decay
1 Peter 1:3-4 “Blessed be the God and Father of
our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his
abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a
lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ
from the dead,
To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and
that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you,
SONG: Because He lives, I can face tomorrow
Because He lives all fears is gone
Because I know oh oh
He holds my future
My life is worth the living
Just because He lives.
I. HOW DOES THIS HOPE MANIFEST?
1.We should make our salvation sure and hold
fast to it that nothing will separate us from
the love of God.
Romans 8: 35-39
Who shall separate us from the love of
Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or
persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or
peril, or sword?
As it is written, for thy sake we are killed
all the day long; we are accounted as
sheep for the slaughter.
Nay, in all these things we are more than
conquerors through him that loved us.
For I am persuaded, that neither death,
nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor
powers, nor things present, nor things to
come,
Nor height, nor depth, nor any other
creature, shall be able to separate us
from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus
our Lord.
Having studied critically and known who we are in
Christ, knowing that He died for us and was raised
for us from the dead.
All that is written in 1 Peter 1:3-5 belongs to us.
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord
Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant
mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively
hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from
the dead,
To an inheritance incorruptible, and
undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved
in heaven for you,
Who are kept by the power of God through
faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in
the last time.
Priceless inheritance kept in heaven for us.
Pure, undefiled, beyond the reach of change
and decay.
Therefore, we should have high expectation that
our hope in the status we have in Christ be
manifested.
It will be foolish of us to neglect so great an
opportunity and inheritance and still allow
anything in this life to obscure our life.
WHAT DOES GOD EXPECTS FROM US
BEFORE OUR GREAT HOPE CAN BE
MANIFESTED?
GOD EXPECTS US TO HAVE:
1.Faith for our Healing: 1 Peter 2:24; who His
own self bares our sins in His own body on the
tree that we, being dead to sins, should live
unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were
healed.
2.Victory: 1 John 4:4; ye are of God, little
children, and have overcome them: because
greater is He that is in you, than he that is in
the world.
3.Faith for Our Success: Philippians 4:13; I
can do all things through Christ which
strengtheneth me.
4.Faith for Our Fruitfulness: Acts 17:28 For
in Him we live, and move, and have our being;
as certain also of your own poets have said, for
we are also His offspring.
5.Faith for Our Riches: 2 Corinthians 8:9; For
ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ,
that, though He was rich, yet for your sakes
He became poor, that ye through His poverty
might be rich.
6.Faith for Our Righteousness: 2 Corinthians
5:21; For He hath made Him to be sin for us,
who knew no sin; that we might be made the
righteousness of God in Him.
7.Faith for Our Joy: Psalm 30:5 For His anger
endureth but a moment; in His favour is life:
weeping may endure for a night, but joy
cometh in the morning.
8.Faith for Our Peace: Isaiah 9:6; For unto us
a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the
government shall be upon his shoulder: and
his name shall be called Wonderful,
Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting
Father, The Prince of Peace.
9.Faith for Our Achievements: 2 Chronicles
6:41-42; Now therefore arise, O LORD God,
into thy resting place, thou, and the ark of thy
strength: let thy priests, O LORD God, be
clothed with salvation, and let thy saints
rejoice in goodness.
O LORD God, turn not away the face of thine
anointed: remember the mercies of David thy
servant.
10. Be Grounded and Rooted in the Word of
God. Ephesians 3:17
1. WHAT DO PEOPLE EXPECT FROM US?
Our fruit of hope must abide.
If we have faith, the work must abide e.g.
kindness, loving, gentleness, diligence and
longsuffering.
Galatians 5:22-23 But the fruit of the Spirit is love,
joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness,
faith,
Meekness, temperance: against such there is no
law.
a.Love: Love your neighbour.
Luke 10:27; And he answering said, thou shalt
love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and
with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and
with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as
thyself.
b.Peace: Follow peace with all men.
Hebrews 12:14; Follow peace with all men,
and holiness, without which no man shall see
the Lord:
c. Endurance: Endure hardship like soldiers of
the cross. e.g. in marriage and at work.
James 1:12; Blessed is the man that endureth
temptation: for when he is tried, he shall
receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath
promised to them that love him.
d.Gentleness: God’s gentleness has made us
great so also we should be gentle with others.
e.Joy: Give joy to other people
Acts 8: 1-6; And Saul was consenting unto
his death. And at that time there was a great
persecution against the church which was at
Jerusalem; and they were all scattered
abroad throughout the regions of Judaea and
Samaria, except the apostles.
And devout men carried Stephen to his
burial, and made great lamentation over
him.
As for Saul, he made havock of the church,
entering into every house, and haling men
and women committed them to prison.
Therefore they that were scattered abroad
went everywhere preaching the word.
Then Phillip went down to the city of
Samaria, and preached Christ unto them.
And the people with one accord gave heed
unto those things which Philip spake,
hearing and seeing the miracles which he
did.
f. Diligence: The diligent shall rule others and
stand before kings. Be diligent at work.
Proverbs 12:24 The hand of the diligent shall
bear rule: but the slothful shall be under
tribute.
g. Faithful: Trustworthy, 1 Corinthians 4:2
“Moreover it is required in stewards that a man be
found faithful.
Luke 19:17 And He said unto him, Well done, thou
good servant: because thou hast been faithful in a
very little, have thou authority over ten cities.
WHAT DOES THE CHURCH EXPECT FROM
US?
Ephesians 3: 16-21 That He would grant
you, according to the riches of His glory,
to be strengthened with might by His
Spirit in the inner man;
That Christ may dwell in your hearts by
faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded
in love,
May be able to comprehend with all saints
what is the breadth, and length, and
depth, and height;
And to know the love of Christ, which
passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled
with all the fullness of God.
Now unto Him that is able to do exceeding
abundantly above all that we ask or think,
according to the power that worketh in us,
Unto Him be glory in the church by Christ
Jesus throughout all ages, world without
end. Amen.
Miracles
Mark 16:17; “And these signs shall follow
them that believe; in my name shall they cast
out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;
Signs and wonders Following you: Pray
for the sick.
Examples of Faith to Believers: 1
Timothy 4:12 Let no man despise thy youth;
but be thou an example of the believers, in
word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in
faith, in purity. “
Hope for the Hopeless: Isaiah 61:1; The
Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because
the LORD hath anointed me to preach good
tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to
bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim
liberty to the captives, and the opening of
the prison to them that are bound;
John 1:12 But as many as received him, to
them gave He power to become the sons of
God, even to them that believe on his name
Use the Power: Matthew 28:18-20 And
Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All
power is given unto me in heaven and in
earth.
Go ye therefore, and teach all nations,
baptizing
them in the name of the Father, and of the
Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
Teaching them to observe all things
whatsoever I
have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you
always,
even unto the end of the world. Amen.
Take Care of the Bride of Jesus: Matthew
25:35 For I was an hungered, and ye gave me
meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I
was a stranger, and ye took me in:
CONCLUSION
My beloved sisters and daughters of Zion, God has
ascribed so many things to our lives.
Take it by faith, the expectation of the righteous
shall not be cut short.
As you are expecting from God, who can never fail
you, begin to manifest the HOPE so that your life
will remain flourishing forever.
WARNING!!
Beware, remove your heart from every form of
wickedness so that you will not be a loser in this
glorious revelation of God to you.
Proverbs 10: 28 “The hope of the righteous shall
be gladness: but the expectation of the wicked
shall perish.
Proverbs 11:23 The desire of the righteous is only
good: but the expectation of the wicked is wrath.
PRAYER
Father, help me to please you, so that my hope in
you can be fulfilled in this life and life eternal
