- There is more than one type of land use in the same building.

- In these buildings, the ground floor and the lower floors are shops, restaurants and
workshops. The upper floors are residential units.

- It is common in old urban areas, e.g. Mongkok, Yau Ma Tei and Sham Shui Po
because land use planning is poor in the past.
