his thoughts. Julia appears by the water, her presence vibrant, carefree.
The music is softer here—“River Flows in You” by Yiruma sets a tone of
wistful melancholy. Alfredo and Julia exchange a casual greeting, and the
scene quickly shifts to a deeper conversation.
Dialogue:
JULIA (smiling, teasing): “You don’t seem like the kind of man who is
happy with everything around him. What’s troubling you, Alfredo?”
ALFREDO (hesitant, looking away): “It’s… nothing. I should be happy. I
have everything anyone could want, don’t I?”
JULIA (looking at him carefully): “You should be happy… but is it the
happiness you wanted, or the one you were expected to have?”
The conversation lingers, and Alfredo feels both drawn to and torn by
Julia’s perspective on life and love. This marks the beginning of his
internal conflict.
Scene 3: Dead Stars Ch. 5
Background music: “Clair de Lune” by Debussy
[SETTING: Preferably something nga calm ang atmosphere na may grass.
This chapter mu focus man sa internal struggle ni Alfredo about his
feelings.
As per Alfredo’s request, Julia arrived just in time. The place was quiet,
giving the two of them a moment to talk.
(Julia)
You wanted to meet me here, Alfredo? This place is so…quiet.
(Alfredo)
[He looks at her, contemplating what to say before finally speaking.] I
wanted to talk about something…something important.
Julia looks at Alfredo, waiting for him to continue what he’s going to say.
She places a hand on his shoulder.
(Julia)
I’m listening.
(Alfredo)
[He would gently brush her hand away from his shoulder and looked at the
view before them.] It’s complicated.
Alfredo took his time, coming up with the right words to say. He’d let out a
sigh.
(Alfredo)
I’ve been thinking about a lot of things lately. About us. (Julia)
[Looks surprised] About us? What do you mean?
(Alfredo)
The moment I first saw you I didn’t think much of it, I thought we were just
going to be casual friends. But, the more I spend time with you, I’m
starting to think otherwise.
(Alfredo)
Everytime we talk…every time we have a moment I feel alive, happier, it’s
like I’m able to breathe freely. Like I finally met my missing piece.
(Alfredo tries to reach his hand to Julia but stops mid air and puts his hand
back down.)
(Julia)
And…what about her?
(Alfredo would look somewhat surprised. It was inevitable that)
Julia would know about his engagement sooner or later, but he didn’t
expect her to be the first to speak up about it.
(Alfredo)
Julia…
(Julia)
[She says with a calm tone] I’m aware of the engagement.
(Alfredo)
Julia, this dosen’t mean that what I feel for you isn’t real.
You give me meaning. But I feel a heavy burden within me, telling me to
go through with the wedding.
(Alfredo)
I’m torn between two worlds, I don’t know what to choose or…who I
should be with.
(Julia)
I don’t want to be the reason why you’re doubting yourself.
(Alfredo)
You’re not. Please trust me on this one, just give me some time to think.
(Julia)
I trust you well enough. But, don’t you think this is unfair? It’s unfair to
me, to you, and to your fiancé
(Alfredo)
I know that, I really do. I feel guilty whenever I think of Esperanza, I don’t
want to hurt anyone of you.
(Julia)
Then I think it’s best if you would just tell her. Tell her about everything,
everything that has happened between us.
(Alfredo)
I can’t bring myself to do that. I still want to go through with our
engagement, she’s been waiting for this, my whole family has been
waiting for this.
(Julia)
[She looks down at the ground, disappointed by Alfredo] Then…what will
you do to fix this mess?
(Alfredo)
[Hesitates to speak for a moment] I’ll eventually think of something.
Alfredo looked at her. To comfort Julia, he’d reach for her hand and held it
tightly.
(Alfredo)
Please, Julia.
Julia was also dealing with inner conflict with herself.
Wanting to tell the truth about their affair so they can both be at peace.
But, looking at Alfredo she would sigh.
(Julia)
Alright, let’s just keep this a secret between us. But I’m sure that she’ll
eventually find out.
Julia would reluctantly let go of Alfredo’s hand, turning her back as she’s
ready to walk away.
(Julia)
[She takes a deep breath] Whatever decision you’ll make, just know I’ll be
happy regardless.
(Julia)
Congrats on the wedding, Alfredo.
With that, she began to walk away, leaving Alfredo to his thoughts.

Esperanza (cutting him off, raising her voice): “Not like I think? Then how
is it, Alfredo? How do you explain your feelings for her? Tell me!”
There is a beat of silence, heavy with tension. Alfredo stands frozen,
unable to speak. Esperanza's emotions overflow, and with a sudden burst
of anger and pain, she slaps him hard across the face. The sound of the
