Sheila is 12years old girl of white British culture and her brother Dude is 10years old
boy from the same culture. They have been living with their parents since birth
however they were taking away from their parents when Sheila was 5years and
Dude was 3years under section 20 due to parent’s misuse of substances. The
children were placed in foster care with a single parent Nicki.
Their father sells class A drugs such as heroin, cocaine and others. The children
hardly go to schools and there were marks found on their bodies which shows they
were experienced physical abuse. There was no proper food for the children which
made them eaten frozen foods. The education setting made the call to the social
services. Sheila’s behaviour has recently become out of control. She has been
running away from placement and has been picking up by the police. Sheila has
been contacting unknown males on the internet and text messages founds on her
phone indicates she is vulnerable to sexual exploitation. The overview of the mother
review indicates Sheila is heading in the same direction as her mother, who has
history of sex working and misuse of substance. Also, her brother Dude has been
staying out late in the night and recently the smell of cannabis is coming out of his
room.
