Location: Agriculture Farm & Tourism Project, Bodampahad Village, Shabad Mandal,
Shadnagar, Rangareddy District, Telangana
Reports to: Farm Manager / Project Manager Agriculture Farm & Tourism
Job Overview:
The Farm Executive at the Agriculture Farm & Tourism Project will play a key role in
overseeing the day-to- day operations of the agricultural production unit, ensuring the
smooth and efficient implementation of
sustainable farming practices. This role will focus on cultivating high-value crops such as
Mango, Seetaphal (Cherimoya), Lemon, and Casuarina, while also supporting eco-friendly
initiatives, water-efficient irrigation systems, and agroforestry practices. Additionally, the
Farm Executive will support the integration of farming activities with educational and
tourism initiatives, contributing to a multifaceted agricultural ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities:
Agricultural Production and Farm Operations:
• Crop Management: Oversee the cultivation, maintenance, and harvesting of crops
such as Mango, Seetaphal, Lemon, and Casuarina, ensuring adherence to organic
and sustainable farming practices.
• Soil and Irrigation Management: Implement and monitor soil health
initiatives, including composting and organic fertilization, and manage water-
efficient irrigation systems (e.g., drip irrigation).
• Pest and Disease Control: Utilize eco-friendly pest control methods, ensuring that
the farm remains free from harmful chemicals, maintaining crop health and
sustainability.
• Agroforestry and Crop Diversification: Implement agroforestry practices,
including intercropping and agro-ecological designs that complement farm
operations and contribute to biodiversity.
Education and Learning Support:
• Student Engagement: Coordinate with local schools to host educational visits,
workshops, and hands-on learning experiences for students of various
educational levels (FLN to Secondary).
• Program Support: Facilitate farm-based science programs, educating
students on sustainable agriculture, plant biology, environmental science, and
the importance of biodiversity.
• Educational Material: Collaborate with the education team to create
learning materials and programs that align with the farm's educational goals
and objectives.
Agro-tourism and Event Management Support:
• Event Coordination: Assist in the organization and management of farm-to-
table experiences, harvest festivals, and eco-tourism activities.
• Visitor Engagement: Educate visitors on farm activities, sustainable
agriculture, and local biodiversity during guided tours, nature walks, and
other tourism-related activities.
• Farm Experience Development: Contribute ideas and support the
development of new agro- tourism events that attract tourists, promote local
culture, and enhance the farm's visibility.
Sustainability and Innovation:
• Sustainable Practices: Promote and implement eco-friendly, sustainable
farming practices throughout the farm.
• Innovation in Agriculture: Identify opportunities for adopting new agricultural
technologies and methods that improve crop yield, environmental impact, and
resource efficiency.
Team Collaboration and Reporting:
• Team Leadership: Support the farm team in daily activities, providing
guidance, training, and leadership to ensure smooth farm operations.
• Monitoring and Reporting: Regularly monitor crop progress, farm operations,
and sustainability initiatives, and report findings to the Farm Manager/Project
Manager.
Skills & Qualifications:
• Educational Requirements:
o Bachelor’s degree in agriculture, Horticulture, Environmental Science, or
a related field (preferred).
o Certification or training in organic farming, sustainable agriculture, or
agroforestry is a plus.
• Experience:
o Minimum 2-3 years of hands-on experience in farm management, crop
cultivation, and organic farming.
o Experience in agro-tourism or educational programs related to agriculture is
desirable.
• Skills:
o Strong knowledge of organic farming techniques and water-efficient irrigation
systems.
o Ability to work with diverse teams, including educators, tourists, and farm
workers.
o Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with visitors,
students, and the local community.
o Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks
simultaneously.
o Passion for sustainability, innovation in agriculture, and environmental
conservation.
• Technical Proficiency:
o Familiarity with agricultural equipment and machinery used in the cultivation
of crops.
o Basic knowledge of farm management software and record-keeping.
