Ivan’s Life
1 Bright and early!
Monday morning again! I always wake up early on school days. My alarm clock
rings at 7.30 but I usually have a lie in for about ten minutes. I get out of bed at
7.40. I have a shower and then I brush my teeth. For breakfast I usually have
cereal, but sometimes I have juice and toast. I often ride my bike to school, but
when I’m late, my dad drives me. I get to school at 8.30.
2 Time to learn
Classes start at 8.45. My first lesson today is maths with Mr Devons and then I
have history at 9.30 with Mrs Grey. I like history because Mrs Grey is my favourite
teacher, but I don’t like maths. I have a break from 11.10 to 11.30 and I usually play
football with my friends Dan and Grant in the school playground. Lunch is at 1.00. I
sometimes bring a sandwich to school, but today is Burger Day in the canteen and
I always eat in the canteen on Burger Day! In the afternoon I have three more
lessons and school finishes at four.
3 After-school activities
I’m free! On Tuesdays and Thursdays I go swimming from 4.30 to 5.30. I’m in the
local swimming club. I always win the races ... well, OK, sometimes I win. On
Mondays and Wednesdays I play in the football team.
4 Evening hours
I usually get back home from my club or football before six. I have supper with
Mum, Dad and my brothers Tom and Jake at 6.30. After that I usually chat online or
play computer games with Tom. I go to bed at 10, but I always read before I go to
sleep at 10.30.
5 At the weekend
And it’s Friday ... school is finished for the week! On Friday nights I have a
photography class with Mr Coombs from six to seven and then I usually go and
watch films at my friend Pete’s house. I’m always home by 10 o’clock. On
Saturdays and Sundays I never get up early. Sometimes I sleep until 11! Most
Saturdays my friends come to my house and we play chess or spend time online.
On Sundays I watch TV with my family in the afternoons. In the evening I do my
homework for Monday.
