8 Course Description
In this 5-unit course, the students will be able to acquire knowledge and apply
skills regarding Post-Calculus Mathematics. The students will be able to solve
mathematical problems related in Mechanical Engineering by the use of higher
and advance mathematical axioms, principles and theorems. The students will be
able to make use of matrices and determinants to solve systems of linear
equations. The students will learn the advanced methods of mathematics, their
applications and importance to applied engineering problems.
9 Program Outcomes At the end of the program, the BSME graduates should be able
to:
1) Apply knowledge of mathematics, natural science, engineering
fundamentals and an engineering specialization to the solution of
complex engineering problems.
2) Identify, formulate, research literature and analyze complex
engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using
first principles of mathematics, natural sciences and engineering
sciences.
10 Course Learning At the end of the course, the students are expected to:
Outcomes 1. Demonstrate the features of the advanced methods in
mathematics Identify the different new engineering materials
and their industrial usage.
2. Solve mechanical engineering problems by applying advanced
methods in mathematics. .
