PRACTICAL ASSESSMENT

TIME: 3 HOURS

INSTRUCTIONS TO CANDIDATE:
1. You are required to perform the following tasks on the vehicle provided with a faulty
hydraulic rack and pinion power steering system:
i. Task 1: Remove the worn-out power steering rack.
ii. Task 2: Install new power steering rack.
iii. Task 3: Bleed the power steering system
2. You have been provided with the following resources for the practical tasks:
 Vehicle with hydraulic rack and pinion power steering system
 Hydraulic Rack and pinion power steering system repair tool box
 Power steering system fluid.
 New hydraulic Rack and pinion power steering system
 Jack and stands
 Cleaning materials
