1 Purpose

We recommend setting up this integration scenario using the Cloud Integration Automation Service (CIAS).

The purpose of this documentation is to guide customers on how to activate the integration between SAP S/
4HANA Cloud and SAP Analytics Cloud (including any “replication-based model” requiring acquired data from SAP
S/4HANA Cloud).

• It is important to note that these steps are customer-specific and cannot be directly provided by SAP. The
documentation will assist customers in performing the necessary configuration steps to enable the integration

Data

1YB will allow you to access SAP S/4HANA Cloud’s OData services to import transaction data into SAP Analytics
Cloud. After you adapt the SAC Business Content model or create your own Model, you have to import transaction
data from S/4HANA Cloud to SAP Analytics Cloud. You do this by using the existing OData services for transaction
data. You can import the data once, or on a recurring schedule.

The following OData services supply transaction data into SAP Analytics Cloud models from SAP S/4HANA.

4 Prerequisite

Before proceeding with the integration, please ensure the following prerequisites are met:

• It is mandatory that the scope item Integration between SAP S/4HANA Cloud and SAP Analytics Cloud (1YB) is
active

• You can check this in the Explore Phase app under Do Scoping of S/4HANA Cloud

• If the scope item is not active, please request activation via Service Now – Ticket Component: XX-S4C-OPR-
SRV
• You need a user with administrator privileges for the SAP S/4HANA Cloud system that you want to
integrate with your SAP Analytics Cloud instance
• The permissions of the SAP_CORE_BC_COM catalog (Communication Management) are required to
access the SAP Fiori applications for managing the communi-cation arrangement

• In your SAP Analytics Cloud instance, you need to be assigned to the administrator role to create an OData
Import Connection and a Planning Mode

5 Configuration

The following sections describe all settings required for this scope item. These can be divided into two main groups
that need to be performed in the following order:

• SAP S/4HANA Cloud: Set up communication arrangement

• SAP Analytics Cloud: Import data connection
• Option 1: using pre-configured connector with SAP Analytics Cloud Business Content in SAP Analytics

• Option 2: creating your own import data connection in SAP Analytics Cloud

6 SAP S/4HANA Cloud Configuration

This topic describes configuration steps that you have to carry out to activate the integration between SAP
Analytics Cloud for S/4HANA Planning & Analysis or Group Financial Planning and SAP S/4HANA Cloud.

It is mandatory that this scope item “Integration between SAP S/4HANA Cloud and SAP Analytics Cloud (1YB)” is
active. See Prerequisites.

Note: To connect to SAP S/4HANA On-Premise OData services, you must Install and configure the Cloud
Connector. The Cloud Connector is not required for a connection to SAP S/4HANA Cloud Edition.

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Configuration

The following sections describe all settings required for this scope item. Perform these settings in the following
order:

1. Create Communication User.

2. Create Communication System.

3. Create Communication Arrangement.

6.1 Create Communication User

Procedure

1. Log on to the SAP S/4HANA Cloud SAP Fiori launchpad as an Administrator.

2. Go to the Communication Management tab and open Maintain Communication Users app.

3. Choose New.

4. Make the following entries

• User Name: enter a name for the user (for example, SAC_COMM_USER).

• Description: enter a description (for example, SAC Integration).

• Password: enter a password and note it down. You will need this password later for establishing a connection to
the SAP S/4HANA Cloud system

5. Choose Create.

Result

You have created a communication user.

6.2 Create Communication System

Procedure

1. Log on to the SAP S/4HANA Cloud SAP Fiori launchpad as an Administrator.

2. Go to the Communication Management tab and open communication system link.
3. Choose New to create a new system.
4. Enter a system ID (for example, SAC_INTEGRATION_0087) and a system name (for example, SAC
Integration).
5. Choose Create.
6. Enter a host name. If a host name is not required for your scenario, enter the system ID.
(For example,SAC). The actual value is not being used in this communication scenario and thus can be chosen
freely.
7. Choose Save.
8. Choose Edit and then choose + in the User for Inbound Communication section.
9. Choose the user you've created in the Create Communication User section.
10. Choose OK and then choose Save to save the communication system.
11. Choose Save.

Result

You have created a communication system and a communication user that is assigned to the communication
system. .

6.3 Create Communication Arrangement

Procedure

1. Log on to the SAP S/4HANA Cloud SAP Fiori launchpad as an Administrator.

2. Under Communication Management, choose Communication Arrangement link.
3. Choose New to create a new communication arrangement.
4. Select the communication scenario
• For S/4HANA Planning & Analysis, select SAP_COM_0087 (SAP Analytics Cloud for Planning Integration)

 • For S/4HANA Group Financial Planning, select SAP_COM_0370 (Finance – Group Financial Planning
Integration)
5. Adapt the arrangement name if required.
6. Choose Create.
7. In the Common Data section, select from the input help the communication system that was created in
previous section. (for example, SAC_INTEGRATION_0087).
8. Verify that the technical user was added to the Inbound Communication section.
9. Choose Save.
10. In the Inbound Services section, you find the URLs to access the OData services.

Result

The communication arrangement has been activated. The communication user and password can now be used
to establish the connection from SAP Analytics Cloud to the SAP S/4HANA Cloud system in the remaining steps
below.

SAP S/4HANA

SAP Business Content in SAP Analytics cloud come with pre-configured models, stories, data actions and
connections. The following describes what actions are required if you are leveraging SAP Analytics Cloud
Busincess Content from SAP for SAP S/4HANA. See SAC Business Content download instructions, which included
configurable connections.

7.1 Maintain the SAP S/4HANA Connection Within SAP

Analytics Cloud For S/4HANA Planning & Analysis

1. After downloading SAC Business Content for S/4HANA, log on to the SAP Analytics Cloud system.

2. Go to the Home page and choose Main Menu Connection.

3. Locate the pre-configured connection SAP S/4HANA and select the checkbox.

4. Choose the Edit Connection icon in the menu in the upper-right corner.

5. In the dialog box, update the following parameters:

Note: To connect to SAP S/4HANA On-Premise OData services, you also must Install and

• Go back to the communication arrangement that you have created for communica-
tion scenario SAP_COM_0087
• Check the service URLs of the inbound services. The common prefix without is the
URL that has to be entered in SAP Aanalytics Cloud. Typically, the URL is as follows:

1. After downloading SAP Analytics Cloud Business Content for Group Financial Planning, log on to the SAP
Analytics Cloud system.

2. Go to the Home page and choose Main Menu Connection.

3. Locate the pre-configured connection SAP - GFPTRANSACTIONDATA (Group Financial Planning for SAP S/
4HANA) and select the checkbox.

4. Choose the Edit Connection icon in the menu in the upper-right corner.

5. In the dialog box, update the following parameters:

If you don’t plan to use SAP Analytics Cloud Business Content, you can configure your own connection in SAP
Analytics Cloud using following the steps below.

• Note: To connect to SAP S/4HANA On-Premise OData services, you also must Install and configure the Cloud
Connector.

• The Cloud Connector is not required for a connection to SAP S/4HANA Cloud Edition.

8.1 Create SAP S/4HANA Import Connection

1. Log on to your SAP Analytics Cloud instance.

2. From the side navigation of SAP Analytics Cloud, choose Connections to add connection. The Select a data
source dialog will appear.

3. Expand Acquire Data and select SAP S/4HANA.

4. In the New SAP S/4HANA Connection dialog, do the following:

• In the Connection Information, add a Connection Nam and Description (for example, S4HODATACON)

• Make sure to that Connect to an On-Premise OData Service is deselected.

5. Enter the Data Service URLthat you setup in section Create Communication Arrangement above.

6. Select the authentication type

7. Enter the User Name and Password of the user you want to import data from in SAP S/4HANA (from the setup in
section Create Communication Arrangement above)

• Note: If you want to share the credential details, select the option Share these credentials when sharing this
connection. Otherwise, users will need to enter their own credentials in order to use the connection. If you don't
share your credentials, users will be able to edit their credentials at any time without having to start a data
acquisition process.

8. Refer to the pre-conigured connection options above to help configure your own connector, if needed

9. Choose Create and the new connection is added to the list of connections on the Connections screen

9.2.1 Issues with the Communication Arrangement

Symptom

Communication scenario SAP_COM_0087 and/or SAP_COM_0370 are not available for selection when creating
the communication arrangement.

Possible Reason

The scope item for SAP Analytics Cloud Integration has not been activated in your SAP S/4HANA Cloud system.

Solution

Verify that your edition of SAP S/4HANA Cloud includes the activation of Integration between SAP S/4HANNA
Cloud and SAP Analytics Cloud (1YB)
