INNOVATION AND ENTREPRENEURSHIP
2 0 2
Rationale Innovation is production or adoption, assimilation, and exploitation of a value-added
novelty in economic and social spheres; renewal and enlargement of products, services,
and markets; development of new methods of production; and the establishment of new
management systems. It is both a process and an outcome. On the contrary,
an entrepreneur is an individual who creates a new business, bearing most of the risks and
enjoying most of the rewards. The process of setting up a business is known as
entrepreneurship. The entrepreneur is commonly seen as an innovator, a source of new
ideas, goods, services, and business or procedures.
Innovation and Entrepreneurship is part and parcel in engineering arena. This is because
without innovative knowledge, skill and attitude an entrepreneur or an engineer is merely
an entrepreneur or simply an engineer. But having sound knowledge on innovation an
engineer or entrepreneur may be a successful person or figure in the respective field.
Besides innovation is more appropriate to involve the practical implementation of an
invention (i.e.- new or improved ability) to make a meaningful impact in a market or
society and not all innovations require a new invention. Technical innovation often
manifests itself via the engineering process when the problem being solved is of a
technical or scientific nature.
Due to the high risks involved in launching a start-up, a significant proportion of start-up
businesses have to close due to "lack of funding, bad business decisions, government
policies, an economic crisis, lack of market demand, or a combination of all of these."
So, Syllabus is designed to cover up the challenges and steps to become an entrepreneur.
That’s why stress is given how to make a project profile and how to prepare a business
plan. In addition, to overcome other associated problems, everything which is essential
are tried to incorporate accordingly.
Learning After undergoing the subject, students will be able to
