Name of the School Observed: Saban National High School

Location of the School: Zone 9, Saban, Oas, Albay (Along the road)
Date to visit: November 5, 2024

As I walked around the school grounds, I noticed that Saban National High School is a well-
kept and clean school. Every classroom is quite warm and comfortable to study in, and they are a big
help in motivating students in the learning process. The different offices and rooms left an
impression on me. The school's surroundings and ambiance are quite appealing because the walls
are white and green, and the gate is green. Every single one of the gardens is breathtaking. The
rooms are odorless and clean. Overall, the school has a conducive learning atmosphere, however
several areas may be improved.

ANALYZE

How do the school campus and the classroom in particular impact the learning of the
students going to school? What are your conclusions?

- The school campus and classroom facilities have a significant impact on the learning of
students who attend school. If the school and classroom facilities are inappropriate, students
will begin to consider not attending school, whereas if the student is comfortable or satisfied
with the school's facilities, he or she will be more eager to attend. It will result in a great
learning experience if you provide a pleasant atmosphere for students to learn
How does this relate to your knowledge of child and adolescent development? How does
this relate to your knowledge of facilitating learning?

- The growth of a child and an adolescent are totally different. In terms of attitudes or behavior,
students differ from one another. Students are more likely to learn if they are at ease with the
people around them, the environment, and the fact that they are safe. The school has a
significant role to play in a child's and adolescent's learning and development.

REFLECT

1. Would you like to teach in the school environment you just observed? Why? Why not?

- Yes, I would like to teach at Saban National High School because the school environment is very
accessible, the surroundings are very peaceful, the school facilities are well maintained, the
classroom orderliness and ambiance is adorable, and the classroom is in good condition, which
motivates both learners and teachers of assessment learning.

2. What kind of school campus is conducive to learning?

- In my opinion, a school is conducive to learning if it contains all of the great facilities, such as a
standard size classroom, laboratories, and a library. Complete facilities will also probably help
and benefit student learners in understanding the subject matter they are studying. The
environment is clean, well-maintained, and pollution free.

3. What kind of classroom is conducive to learning?

- The teacher in charge of the classroom must be in good health. A classroom that is well-
ventilated, well-lit, well decorated, and well-organized is conducive to learning. A classroom
that is well-designed and constructed on a solid basis is also favorable to learning. If it is
completely equipped with instructional and learning materials, it is said to be conducive. My
idea of a conducive classroom environment is one in which students and teachers enjoy a
friendly atmosphere of friendship and where students may express themselves freely without
fear of being judged or discriminated against.
4. In the future, how can you accomplish your answer in number 3?

- Excellent classroom management skills, an open mind to recognize and appreciate students'
diversity, a sensitive heart to grasp their needs, and a diverse set of ideas to meet those needs
are all needed. I am willing to put my personal pocket and other resources on the line for the
sake of my students and the school. I need to live up to my own expectations and avoid walking
in other people's shadows, especially if the shadows in front of me aren't setting a good
example.

5. Write your additional learnings and insights here.

- The appearance of the school buildings, grounds, and classrooms reflects the type of educators
in charge. Parents, students, and the rest of the community in which the school is located form
their first impressions of the school based on its appearance. They associate the teachers with
that impression. That perception may influence their level of trust and respect for the school.
Teaching is influenced by trust and respect. Learning is influenced by trust and respect.

Recommendations or Suggestions for Improvement:

On this displayed board, the institutions should consider adding a layout design. As concerned as the
school is about promoting their good, they need to improve this bulletin board in such a manner that
students, teachers, and even outsiders can see it right away and recognize the services that this
school can deliver. Colors, design, theme/topic, well balanced display, and so on are all important.

ANALYZE

What do you think was the purpose of the board display?

- Classroom display boards are a good method to get students involved, excited, and working
together, allowing them to maximize their learning and personal abilities. These are also a fun
approach to teach students about a variety of topics. Additionally, for students who are visual
learners, display boards are an excellent learning tool because they allow them to see exactly
what is being said to them. The fundamental benefit of teaching with display boards is that it
promotes visual learning, which helps students retain information for longer periods of time.

Did the board display design reflect the likes/interests of its target audience? Why? Why not?
- Yes, because the bulletin board display is neat and simple, it reflects the likes/interests of its
target audience. It can also help individuals discover their own meaning or notion by providing
them with knowledge.

Was the language used clear and simple for the target audience? Why? Why not?

- Yes, the language utilized was simple and clear. It is simple to understand for students and
teachers who read the information being conveyed. It has the potential to motivate students
and teachers to collaborate in the learning process.

Was the board display effective? Why? Why not?

- Yes, bulletin boards are useful in a variety of ways, including saving time for teachers by
displaying information to large groups of people at the same time. Bulletin boards, when used
properly, can help individuals communicate more effectively, foster awareness and
development, and improve learning.

What suggestions can you make?

- The bulletin board, in my opinion, should be more appealing by using bright indigenous
materials, clear photos, and information should be updated on a weekly basis.

Based on your suggestion, propose an enhanced version of the display board. Use the form below.
My Proposed Board Display
Theme: Previous SCHOOL ACTIVITIES and Upcoming Events

Board Title: “It’s Time to Look on The Bright Side”.

Rationale: (Purpose)
The purpose of my proposed board display is to provide educators, students, and visitors
with the information they need to know about school-related matters, as well as to provide
them with ideas for something new to them. I’d like to put up an educational side of the board
that reflects the school’s good aspects and the love of learning.

Objectives:
To provide the school’s teachers, students, and visitors with information on the school’s
accomplishments, future events, and an interesting side of learning.

Best features of my proposed bulletin enhancement:

I plan to use bright materials and a design that will appeal to the target audience; I’d like to
make it more fun for everyone. I’d want to hang some photographs, cute designs, readable cut-
out text, and even a few curved boards inside that displayed board so that students can express
the information they want the public to know. This is also a good method to give students some
control over how they use their resources.

Content resources (Name each needed resource and give each a brief description):
For the images, colored printouts would be used. I could make posters, print materials,
brochures, and other materials to emphasize more on the topics that needed graphics for
additional information and could be used for visualization learning. I’ll also need a glass to
protect the displayed board from any potential damage.

Materials for aesthetic enhancement:

Since I could not produce the materials on my own, I would require a donation from the
school if they could contribute some resources, particularly for the bulletin board and the glass
that is required, if they could not or could only give a few amounts. I’d probably go out of my
way to ask a family member or friend for money, explaining why it’s needed. If there is an
excess, it will most likely be saved for future materials, especially as I plan to alter the content of
this board every three months throughout the school year.

REFLECT
1. Name at least five skills that a teacher should have to be able to come up with
effective board displays. Elaborate on why each skill is needed.

*Creative skills - In a classroom setting, instructional content can be dry and boring, thus
creative teachers must make an effort to communicate concepts and topics in an engaging
manner.
*Visual skills - Teachers are similar to interior designers in that they must be able to visualize
the presentation and impression they intend to make before putting it on display.
*Organizational skills - Even if the teacher has creative and visualizing skills, she or he must
organize her or his content in such a way that it leads to a more balanced presentation for the
audience.
*Grammar and communication skills – Grammar and communication should be an area of
expertise for a teacher. The bulletin board will be exhibited to a diverse audience, and they
must do as well as possible in terms of spelling and word linkages.
*Technology skills - A teacher should know how to use technology effectively. Because there
are so many designs available on the internet, they may create much more engaging and useful
information, which will benefit the bulletin board even more.
2. Which of the skills you named in # 1 do you already have? Recall your past experiences
in making board displays. How do you practice these skills?

- Making board displays was not something I had done in school. I may, nevertheless, believe
myself to have these creative and visualizing abilities. Despite the fact that I am not an expert in
any way, I believe I could carry off this makeover and make it significantly more engaging for
the students.
3. Which skills do you still need to develop? What concrete steps will you take on how you
can improve on or acquire these skills.

- I don't have enough confidence in my grammar and communication skills; I believe I'll have to
work on that by reading and getting back to my past lessons. I'm not the type of person who
can pick something from a hat and put it to good use. If I have to spend money on a project, I
will do everything I can to complete it without even considering other options. To construct
something like this, I'll need to obtain some ideas from the internet and ask my colleagues for
advice on how to do it.

My Personal Illustration of an Effective
School Environment
One of the most important factors affecting student learning in the classroom environment. An
effective learning environment is one in which students perceive their classrooms to be positive and
encouraging, as well as a place where they feel safe and secure.

The learning must be done by the students. We must ensure that learners are able to work in an
atmosphere that supports them in their endeavors. To put it another way, it is our role as educators
to provide the atmosphere for success.

There is no one-size-fits-all approach to creating an effective learning environment. It must be

appropriate for the learning environment. However, before we start designing a lesson or task, we
should consider how this learning environment might look. We can now create a wide range of
effective learning environments thanks to technological advancements. However, technology alone
will not ensure learner success; it must be combined with other components.

Students' attention is improved, anxiety is reduced, and emotional and behavioral regulation is
supported in a positive school environment. Learners are more likely to acquire better motivation
when educators build a good learning culture, which leads to excellent learning outcomes. Schools
might potentially raise student accomplishment by improving their learning environments.
