a) Define the following terms as used in chemical kinetics:
i. Complex reactions (1 mark)
ii. Molecularity of a reaction (1 mark)

b) Nitric oxide combines with hydrogen as follows; 2NO(g) + 2H2(g) → N2(g) + 2H2O(l). From

a) Explain the effect of a catalyst on the rate of a chemical reaction. (2 marks)
b) In enzyme-catalyzed reactions, the kinetic parameters are determined by the Michaelis–
