TEN WAYS TO WORK WITH YOUR SOULCOLLAGE® CARDS

IMPORTANT NOTE: There are definitely MORE THAN 10 WAYS to work with your cards. The
suggestions in this mini-workbook are designed to get you started on your journey. You can also
use some of these ways to work with Tarot, Oracle, and Animal Cards.

This guide also assumes that you have made and met more than one SoulCollage®.

SUGGESTION 1: DAILY GUIDANCE: Pulling a card once a day is a beautiful way to bring
intentional focus to your life. Start by shuffling your cards and holding the question in your
heart. I like to use a general question like "What do I need to bring my awareness to
today?" But if you have a specific (OPEN ENDED) question, then you can definitely ask that.

PRO TIP: To really connect with the daily card, spend a few minutes journaling about the card in
response to the question you asked. That will allow you to hold the card image and guidance in
your heart and mind throughout the day.

SUGGESTION 2: WEEKLY SPREAD: At the start of each week, you might sit with the cards (I
do this on Sunday because I use Monday as the first day of my week) and pull three cards.
There are tons of 3 card spreads you can find on the Internet, but here is the one I use
most often:

The weekly spread is designed to help you have a focus for the full week. Something that
you can come back to each day as you journal, create, pray, meditate, etc. You can change
the card prompts to suit you. I like to always have a support card -- What can support me
this week or where can I find support this week. And the action card is all about what I need
to do to stay focused or be focused on the thing that showed up in card number one.

PRO TIP: Take a photo of your card spread when you do it and keep it on your phone to look at
throughout the week. I also print the photo and put it in my journal/planner. That gives me a
quick reminder each time I open my journal throughout the week. This also helps me see patterns
in my card pulls.

SUGGESTION 3: CREATIVE DEPARTURES: One of my favorite ways to use my

SoulCollage® cards is to bring them into my art practice. Whether I'm binding handmade
journals, art journaling, or writing poetry & personal narrative, I find that when I feel stuck, I
can pull a card from my deck and that gets me flowing again. When you pull a card to work
with your creative energy, you might ask questions like:

>>What energy can assist me creatively today?

>>Where can I redirect my energy to boost my creativity today?

>>Which creative project needs my attention today?

>>What colors can I start with today? [I love this question because it often pushes me out
of my comfort zone with colors and typically I end up LOVING what I've created.]

SUGGESTION 4: UNCOVER WHAT'S HIDDEN. Sometimes we are simply too close to a
situation to see the possibilities or to see the gift in the burden. Whether the situation is
good or “bad”, our SoulCollage® cards can help us uncover what we are not able to see on
our own. It’s magical and mystical, but mostly, it's psychological. Images show us things we
don't always see on the surface. And when we open our hearts and minds to the fact that
the answers already live inside of us, then we can use the cards to unlock or uncover those
answers. The question I ask is..."What am I not seeing about this situation." I will fill in the
words to replace "this situation" with whatever I’m asking about.

SUGGESTION 5: TO INSPIRE YOUR WRITING: We can grab our SoulCollage® cards and
use them as quick writing prompts. I have about 20 different ways I use the cards for this,
but they all involve using them to start and tell a story or write a narrative poem. The writer
in me LOVES the activities and the reminder that the answers (and the questions) live inside
ME.

So grab your SoulCollage® deck and try this to inspire your writing.
1. Shuffle the deck.
2. Cut the deck into three piles.
3. Start with pile 1 and turn over the top card. Use that card to begin your story. Use what
is in the card, the setting, the being(s), tell the story of what is happening in the card.
4. When you have finished saying all you want/can say about card 1, flip over the top card
on the second stack and use that to continue the story.
5. Repeat the process with stack three.
6. Sometimes you can even go back and see how all three cards are working together
and see if there is a theme amidst the cards. Use that to tie the story together.

SUGGESTION 6: TWO CARD DIALOGUE: This method of working with your cards creates
a beautiful way of seeing what your soul wants you to know even if you don’t have a
question in mind. It requires you to have two cards (I’m sure that is obvious from the title)
and to let your imagination run wild.

Grab two of your SoulCollage® cards and try this.

1. Lay the cards side-by-side.
2. Let one of the cards begin the conversation. You can start with things like:
a. “Hi. What are you here to talk about?”
b. “This week I’m planning to..., what are your plans for the week?”
c. “I’ve been meaning to ask you...”
d. “What’s on your mind today?”
3. Pick one of the conversation starters and see where it takes the cards. Let them speak
and have a conversation. You are simply there to scribe.
4. When you’ve exhausted all you think the cards want to say, read the conversation OUT
LOUD so you can hear the words reflected back to you.

SUGGESTION 7: CONSULT THE CARDS: The method of SoulCollage® has a specific way of
doing card consultations, so I suggest taking an Introduction to SoulCollage® workshop
where consultations are taught, so once you understand the traditional way a SoulCollage®
consultation is done, come back to this suggestion and try these other variations:

Ask four different questions about the same thing/theme and pull four cards
Ask one question and pull from each suit
Ask one question and pull from one suit only
Ask four questions on the same theme and pull from one suit

NOTE: Taking an Introductory SoulCollage® workshop or reading the book

SoulCollage® Evolving by Seena Frost can help you learn about the suits of
SoulCollage® if this language is foreign to you.

SUGGESTION 8: WEEK AHEAD SPREAD: I love to ask my SoulCollage® cards to guide me
on the week ahead and give me a little soul message for the next 7 days. You can make up
your own layout and prompts for this, and I’ve provided my favorite things to ask. I will
switch it up from time to time, but here’s what I like to ask:

What can I What can I What do I

What do I
leave bring with need to
need to do?
behind? me? know?

Support for
the Week /
Month
Ahead

PRO TIP: Try shuffling your deck while asking the first question, then pull the card and lay it face
up. Record what the card has to say. Leave that card on the table and then shuffle the deck again
and ask the second question while shuffling. Pull the 2nd card and lay it face up then record the
response. Continue this rhythm until you get all the cards pulled and responded to. This method
allows you to “charge” the deck with your question before you select it. This allows the energy on
the card to respond to the question specifically.

SUGGESTION 9: YEAR AHEAD SPREAD: As the name suggests, this reading can be done
at the end of one year or right before your next birthday to give you guidance on your year
ahead. There is no one way to do this, but I like to take a bird’s eye approach to the year.

April October

May September

June August
July

PRO TIP: If 12 cards feels like too much or you don’t have 12 SoulCollage® cards yet, try doing
just the first quarter of the year and revisit this at the start of each quarter.

SUGGESTION 10: BLENDED READINGS: I LOVE to pair other modalities, systems, and
tools with my SoulCollage® cards. For example:
Systems I’ve created
Tarot -- great for working with the Council suit
Oracle Cards -- great for working with the Committee suit
Animal Decks -- great for working with my Community & Companion Cards
Numerology -- especially if you number your cards
Astrology -- with all suits
Lunar Phases
Human Design
Chakras or Reiki
and more...

FINAL THOUGHTS: SoulCollage® is a fascinating method that can be used for many
things. From inspiration to divination, the cards are simply a tool. The magic lives inside
of YOU. Using the cards is simply a way to drown out the noise of our everyday lives so that
we can truly hear what our inner wisdom has to say.

When you are ready to take your SoulCollage® practice to the next level, join me in one of
my online Introduction to SoulCollage® classes and experience monthly Make & Meet
and Consult Your Cards sessions along with special guest facilitators, discussion space with
other SoulCollage® practitioners, and more.
