Introduction
Background of Study:
Light is a crucial factor in photosynthesis and overall plant growth. Plants require light
energy to produce food, and the intensity of light can significantly influence their growth
rate and health. This study aims to explore the effect of varying light intensities on the
growth of plants.
Statement of Problem:
This project investigates how different light intensities affect plant growth.
Objectives of the Study:
To observe and analyze plant growth under various light conditions.
Materials and Methods
Study Area:
The experiment was conducted in a controlled environment with regulated temperature
and humidity.
Materials:
Plant pots, seeds, LED light, natural light source, soil, measuring instruments.
Methodology:
Plants were exposed to three different light intensities (high, medium, low) for two weeks.
Growth was measured daily, including height and leaf count.
Results
The data collected shows variations in plant growth under different light intensities. Below
are the tables and figures that represent the growth in height and leaf size over the course
of the experiment.
Discussion and Conclusion
The findings suggest that plants exposed to medium light intensity had the healthiest
growth in terms of height and leaf size. High light intensity led to minor leaf burns, while
low light intensity resulted in stunted growth.
Conclusion:
Medium light intensity is optimal for plant growth.
Recommendations
Further research can be conducted with different plant species and varying light
wavelengths to analyze their effects on growth.
