Digital Marketing

Session 2

How to get a temporary E-mail:

By going to https://temp-mail.io/en we can get a temporary email
After opening the website we need to click on the change option and type a name and we need to select the
very first domain which is (tippabble.com) and press get it, an email will appear and we can use this as a
temporary email. If we close the tab the email will disappear, if we want that same email back we have to
retrace all the steps from the start and type the exact same name as before.

The wordpress dashboard is called Backend

The Website is called Frontend

We can directly open the wordpress login panel website by using the website url + /wp-admin.
For example:
https://dev-trainee-digital-marketing.pantheonsite.io (+) /wp-admin

Overview of (almost) all the option in wordpress dashboard:

Plugins: Plugins are like software of wordpress, they allow us to perform certain task that is not available by
default in wordpress.

How to post something in our website:

DashboardPostAdd a new postCreate the postClick on publish twice
The content of your post must be your own or you may face penalty from google which will inherently
decrease the reach of your website. For practice purposes we can use the website (Lorem Ipsum) for some
demo text.

How to add an image in our post:

While on the post creating section we need click on the (+) sign and on the top left corner or at the end of the
block a (+) sign will also appear we need to click on that plus sign and search for image. From there we can
either upload an image or select one from the media library.

Categories:
We can add different categories to our posts to organize it better.
DashboardPostCategoryWe need to give a name of our categoryThen we can add a slug/ perma-
link/ subpage (What slug essentially does is convert the url into the category name)
A slug will always have a default hyphen in the middle we can change that by manually typing the slug.
If we make a mistake during writing the category we can either delete or edit it by placing the curser on the
category name.

Media:
All the websites photos and videos are stored here

Page:
We can add new pages through the page option or edit the old ones.
How to add a new page:
DashboardPagesAdd new pageswrite the tittle of the pagepublish (twice and save if we are editing
the page.
How to edit a page:
Dashboardpageall page then when we put the curser on any of the pages name the edit option will
appear, we can also delete a page in the same manner by using the trash option.

Comments:
Comments are customer feedback left on your page

Appearance:
It’s exactly as it sounds we can change the appearance of the website through this option.
We can find themes and editor option in appearance.

Theme:
Themes are like pre build templates for our website to make the website building a little bit easier.

Editor:
For advance customizable website building the editor option is used

User:
We can give developer access to someone by adding them as user and giving them roles.

Roles:
Subscriber: they can read the comments of the website
Author: Additionally they can also post something
Contributor: Additionally they can also approve comments
Editor: They can do everything except development work
Administrator: They can do everything

Profile:
User interface customization

Import:
We can import content from any other website

Export:
We can export all the content from the website and use it in a different website if we like.

Site Health:
