Chapter -3 Addition of 2- digit number
Addition properties:
1. Order in adding two numbers:
The numbers can be added in any order.
The sum will be same in both cases.
Ex:
2+3=5
3+2=5
2. Order in adding three numbers:
The numbers can be grouped in any order.
The sum will remain same in all cases.
Ex:
(3+2)+4 = 9
3+ (2+4) = 9
(3+4)+2 = 9
3. Adding Zero:
When 0 is added to a number, the sum is the number itself.
Ex:
5+0 = 5
26 + 0 = 26
4. Adding One:
When 1 is added to a number, the sum is the next number on the number line.
Ex:
2+1=3
43 + 1 = 44
Addition of 2-digit numbers with re-grouping
10 tens = 1Hundred
Ex:
Add 46 + 55
H T O
1 1
4 6
+ 5 5
1 0 1
46 + 55 = 101
