1. Answer to this Paper must be written on the paper provided separately.
2. You will not be allowed to write during first 15 minutes.
3. This time is to be spent in reading the question paper.
4. The time given at the head of this Paper is the time allowed for writing the answers.
5. Attempt all questions from Section A and any four questions from Section B.
6. All working, including rough work, must be clearly shown, and must be done on the same sheet as the

(i) The given figure represents a hemisphere surmounted by a conical block of wood. The diameter of their
bases is 6 cm each and the slant height of the cone is 5 cm. Calculate
(i) The height of the cone.
(ii) The volume of the solid.

(ii) Mr. Britto deposits a certain sum of money each month in a recurring deposit account of a bank. If the
rate of interest is of 8% per annum and Mr. Britto gets `8088 from the bank after 3 yr, find the value of
his monthly installment.

(iii) Prove that:


1 + sin θ + 1 − sin θ = 2 sec θ .
1 − sin θ 1 + sin θ

QUESTION 3.

(i) Mr. Prakash invested `52,000 on `100 shares at a discount of `20 paying 8% dividend. At the end of year,
he sell the shares at a premium of `20. Find
(i) The annual dividend.
(ii) The profit earned including his dividend.

(ii) In the figure below, O is the centre of the circle and SP is a tangent. If +SRT = 65c, find the values of x
, y and z .

(iii) Use graph paper for this question. A survey regarding height (in cm) of 60 boys belonging to class 10 of a
school was conducted. The following data was recorded.

165-170 1

Taking 2 cm = height of 10 cm along one axis and 2 cm = 10 boys along the other axis draw an ogive of the
above distribution. Use the graph of estimate the following

(ii) Lower quartile
(iii) If above 158 cm is considered as the tall boys of the class, find the number of boys in the class who are
tall.

(ii) two tangents to the circle from the external point B . Measure and record the length of the tangents.

(iii) In the given figure, PM is a tangent to the circle and PA = AM . Prove that
(i) TPMB is an isosceles.

(i) If a, b, c, d are in GP., show that a2 + b2 , b2 + c2 , c2 + d 2 are in GP.

(ii) Computer Animations : The animation on a new computer game initially allows the hero of the game to
jump a (screen) distance of 10 inch over booby traps and obstacles. Each successive jump is limited to 34
inch less than the previous one.
(i) Find the length of the seventh jump
(ii) Find the total distance covered after seven jumps.

(iii) The daily wages of 80 workers in project are given below :

Use a graph paper to draw an ogive for the above distribution.

(iii) the number of workers who earn more than Rs. 625 daily.

(i) In the given figure AC is parallel to x-axis.

(i) Find the equation of AC.


(ii) If slope of AB = 2, find the equation of AB.
(iii) Find the co-ordinates of A.
(iv) Find the area of TABC .

(ii) Radio towers are used for transmitting a range of communication services including radio and television.
The tower will either act as an antenna itself or support one or more antennas on its structure, including
microwave dishes. They are among the tallest human-made structures. There are 2 main types: guyed and
self-supporting structures.
On a similar concept, a radio station tower was built in two sections A and B . Tower is supported by wires
from a point O . Distance between the base of the tower and point O is 36 m. From point O , the angle of
elevation of the top of section B is 30c and the angle of elevation of the top of section A is 45c.

(i) What is the height of the section B ?


(ii) What is the height of the section A ?
(iii) What is the length of the wire structure from the point O to the top of section A ?
(iv) What is the length of the wire structure from the point O to the top of section B ?
(v) What is the angle of depression from top of tower to point O ?

(iii) A number that is a multiple of 6.
(iv) An odd number.
