(i) The given figure represents a hemisphere surmounted by a conical block of wood. The diameter of their
bases is 6 cm each and the slant height of the cone is 5 cm. Calculate
(i) The height of the cone.
(ii) The volume of the solid.
(ii) Mr. Britto deposits a certain sum of money each month in a recurring deposit account of a bank. If the
rate of interest is of 8% per annum and Mr. Britto gets `8088 from the bank after 3 yr, find the value of
his monthly installment.

(i) Mr. Prakash invested `52,000 on `100 shares at a discount of `20 paying 8% dividend. At the end of year,
he sell the shares at a premium of `20. Find

(iii) Use graph paper for this question. A survey regarding height (in cm) of 60 boys belonging to class 10 of a
school was conducted. The following data was recorded.
Taking 2 cm = height of 10 cm along one axis and 2 cm = 10 boys along the other axis draw an ogive of the
above distribution. Use the graph of estimate the following
(i) The median
(ii) Lower quartile
(iii) If above 158 cm is considered as the tall boys of the class, find the number of boys in the class who are
tall.

(ii) Computer Animations : The animation on a new computer game initially allows the hero of the game to
jump a (screen) distance of 10 inch over booby traps and obstacles. Each successive jump is limited to 34
inch less than the previous one.
(i) Find the length of the seventh jump
(ii) Find the total distance covered after seven jumps.
QUESTION 7.
(ii) Radio towers are used for transmitting a range of communication services including radio and television.
The tower will either act as an antenna itself or support one or more antennas on its structure, including
microwave dishes. They are among the tallest human-made structures. There are 2 main types: guyed and
self-supporting structures.
On a similar concept, a radio station tower was built in two sections A and B . Tower is supported by wires
from a point O . Distance between the base of the tower and point O is 36 m. From point O , the angle of
elevation of the top of section B is 30c and the angle of elevation of the top of section A is 45c.
