Industrialization

The industrialization of this solution has been successfully secured by the joint venture in Solihull, where
production has been in full swing since 2021. The quick setup of the entire production plant, expertise in
industrialization and process development, distinguish this project. The plant focuses on the production
of this transmission, with several thousands of units already leaving our factory in 2022 and more in 2023,
offering maximum flexibility to also realize other customer projects at this location.

Electrification of speed within

the hyper car

450 km/h Electrification slowly but surely reaches the performance-driven hypercar world and bears both oppor-
tunities and challenges for engineering teams. This sector sets the bar high, where agile design processes
are essential to achieve exceptional results. Our powerful 8-speed transmission with an e-reverse gear for
weight saving proved that new heights in engineering can be achieved. It was conceptualized, designed,
and produced in series within only four years. During that process, a new powerful design opportunity was

uncovered.
We focus on advanced transmissions with electric DNA for high-
end applications, always striving for unprecedented performance
levels while simplifying complexity, increasing cost-effectiveness,
and reducing overall packaging. This new solution is a case in point –
electrified performance for our speed enthusiasts. We challenged the status quo of our last hypercar solution in
2022 and found a new way for numerous adaptation possibilities,
considering future customer demands

Acceleration and performance

through intelligent layout
The development looked for new solutions to support extremely high performance levels, mainly driven by
the desire to increase levels of e-motor power for high acceleration and maximum vehicle speed (above 450
km/h). At the same time, they wanted to shorten the distance between the front transmission flange and
the output shaft to give more freedom in vehicle design. A P2.5 hybrid topology has been designed, moving
the motor to the rear of the transmission, and connecting the drive via the 7th gear. The performance has
been simulated with an e-motor output of 300 kW max. and proved to be a success.
