D 5mm crochet hook – crown, 6mm crochet hook – ruffles
1 stitch marker (optional)
Scissors
Darning needle
Worsted weight 4 yarn (or any yarn of choice)
The crown
Magic circle or ch 4, join
Row 1: magic circle, 12 dc, sl st *
Row 2: ch 2, DC increase into every stitch, SL, ST to join *
Row 3: ch 2, 2 DC INC, into the first ST,, 1 DC, 2DC INC* SL ST to join *
Row 4: ch 2, 2DC into the first ST, 1 DC in next 2 STS, 2 DC INC*, SL ST to join *
Row 5: ch 2, 2DC into the first ST, 1 DC in next 3 STS INC*, SL ST to join*’
Row 6: Ch 2, 2 dc into the first ST,, 1DC into the next 9 STS, INC*, SL ST to join*n
Row 7 thru 11 - Make 1 DC in each ST all the way around SL ST to join in each row.
7;8;9;10;11*
Row 12 – make 1 HDC into each ST all the way around SL ST to join*
Row 13 & Row 14- make 1 SC into each stitch all the way around SL ST to join*
The Ruffles
When you do your ruffle pattern, I measure a lot because it depends on your tension. I tend to
be in between tight and loose tension and always complete the row you are on before you stop.
This is because your tension will be different when you pick it up to crochet again.
1st row of ruffles*

2nd st – 2 DC
3rd st – 1DC
4th st – 5 DC
5th st – 4 DC
6th st – 3 DC
7th st – 2 DC
Repeat stitches 4-7 all the way around, SL ST to join. (you will start to see the ruffles form,
exciting huh?!?)
