Pre - Work

Given below are two investor pitches for the same venture. Read both of them
and then answer the question that follows.
Pitch 1:
My name is Snigdha. I am the founder of Aqua Bottles, a company
manufacturing designer water bottles. I am raising ₹50 lakh seed money to
begin the manufacturing of my product and establish retail channels. Our water
bottles have a sleek design, are attractive, and can maintain the temperature of
the liquid (hot or cold) they hold for at least half a day. These bottles fit into any
backpack pocket and are available exclusively on Amazon worldwide. Each
bottle costs ₹1,299.

Pitch 2:
My name is Snigdha. I am the founder of Aqua Bottles, a company
manufacturing designer water bottles. I am raising ₹50 lakh seed money to
begin manufacturing the bottles and establish retail channels. My friends and I
love to trek. Last summer, we travelled to the forests of Madhya Pradesh. The
temperature there touched 40 degree Celsius. All of us carried plastic water
bottles, and by late morning, we were all drinking hot water. Besides, we felt
bad about it because we were adding more plastic load to our planet. After we
returned to the city, I tried to find sustainable and reusable bottles to keep cold
water in many stores. But, unfortunately, all of them were the bulky
old-fashioned thermoses that I have seen my parents use. I thought they didn’t
look good enough, didn’t fit in my backpack and were definitely not worth the
price tag of ₹1,899. I saw this as a clear gap and opportunity in the market.
Being a designer myself, I designed a bottle that could maintain the
temperature of the liquid inside it, could be flaunted as an accessory on
Instagram, fits into backpacks of any size, is value for money and helps in
reducing the use of plastics around the world.

Which of the two pitches is more impactful and why?
