Dr. Sandip Shah, Chairperson of the
National Accreditation Board for
Testing and Calibration Laboratories
(NABL), is a medical professional and
visionary leader with over 35 years of
experience in transforming India's
healthcare landscape. A Gold
Medalist in MD Pathology and
Bacteriology from B.J. Medical
College, Ahmedabad, Dr. Shah's
expertise spans pathology, molecular
biology, and transplant immunology.
Dr. Shah is the Joint Managing
Director at Neuberg Diagnostics,
founder of Neuberg Supratech
Reference Laboratories, and
Honorary Director at the Institute of
Kidney Diseases and Research Center.
He oversees more than 35
laboratories across Gujarat,
Rajasthan, and Madhya Pradesh and
has pioneered advancements in automation, transplant immunology, and molecular
histopathology.
He served as the Chair of the Medical Labs Accreditation Improvement Committee
(MLAIC) and has been involved in a mentorship role at NABL before becoming the
Chairperson.
As a CAP Inspector and visiting faculty at IIM Ahmedabad, Dr. Shah has been at the
forefront of healthcare innovation. He conceptualized and implemented India's first
Drive-through COVID testing facility, conducting 3,500 tests at a single site. His
initiatives were instrumental in supporting Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation and
Rajkot in large-scale COVID testing and Whole Genome Sequencing.
Dr. Shah has published 25 research papers and presented 15 posters at national and
international platforms. His contributions have earned him accolades such as the
Luminares Award by Divya Bhaskar and the White Coat Wizard Medical Pioneers Award
by The Times of India.
